  1. What would be the requirement for a registered nurse in the Philippines to work in Canada (as a nurse of course)? She already passed her NCLEX and IELTS but only has 6o months of experience. ANy info that you could provide will be so helpful. Also, if you know of someone who went through this same situation, what did he/she do?
  2. Good day! Thank God for this website. To the moderators and the people who keep this site up and running, I give you my utmost appreciation. There are only a handful of websites for nurses globally that is as helpful as this one. Anyway, I would like to apply for work in NZ or Australia. However, my friend who applied to NZ already says that he needed to shell out almost 200,000 pesos for it. Is it really that expensive? How about working in Australia? How do I apply for that? Do they accept people with less than a year of clinical experience? Any reply would be much appreciated! Thanks!

I've been working for a year as a nurse here in California and yesterday a friend of mine from told me that she's been hired in a nursing home to work as a nurse. The catch is that I know for a fact that she only has a tourist visa which to my knowledge doesn't give her the right to work here legally. When I told her about it, she told me that $5 from her stating salary of $25 would be given to NSO as "protectors" money. I was shocked at what I heard from her. Is this really true? Does anybody else know of an incident like this?
