Hi Everyone! Just got back on again to this wonderful website. I've moved around and have found myself working in a new environment. Anywho, this forum struck me because as we all know, all people go through stress a lot of times...and we, NURSES, are sure ain't exempted from it! We've all had day and night shifts wherein all we want to do is crawl back into bed and pass out till kingdom come... So my question is, what is your go-to stress reliever? The thing or activity that you do to make yourself feel better. I'd love to hear what you guys have to say for I am sure a lot of people can benefit from it :) I'll start... Mine is SHOPPING I love to go shopping after a night shift (makes you buy unnecessary things or things you would normally think about...but only this time, you have less capacity to think so you buy impulsively, which is fun!) I either go to the mall or go online shopping

Hi everyone! This thread may seem a bit repititive but I really need help with registering in NSW (Sydney). I'm an RN here in the Philippines. I already know through reading threads here that most are required to go through a bridging course. I'm actually very much willing to go through with it. The sequence of applying for NSW is a little bit confusing for me. I know I need to take IELTS. Also that I would need to go in Australia under a student visa. But I'm confused what the difference between a registered nurse and an enrolled nurse? In my application form, which one should I choose? How does one get assessed? Should I be assessed first before I submit an application form to the nursing board of NSW? Any information that can be given will be greatly appreciated. I really would like to arrange everything on my own and not go through a recruitment agency. Thanks a lot! More power to our helpful forum:up:

truth of the matter is our home land, sad as it may be, is NOT a place where you can grow professionally. its not just about what you earn here that's a problem. there is no avenue for progress. the government has forgotten about the people a long long time ago. basically, and i truly believe it, that MOST of the people have seen politics as an extension of their BUSINESS enterprise. its all about money and power for them. very sad considering that there's a lot of potential for the people. filipinos aren't dumb. they were simply "dumb downed" by the government. through the years, filipinos got complacent. so sad really.

hello! i got a question. im also been contemplating on going for australia particularly in sydney since my uncle lives there. anyway, i haven't had any hospital experience yet here in the phil so is it a MUST before you can register with the board to have a working experience? im kind of willing and since apparently there a little way around the bridging course, to go for it. oh and another thing. is there no way for the board to consider toefl-ibt? i got really got marks and was hoping (saves time and money) that they can consider it. i'd really appreciate any help! as always, PRC has been crystal clear about everything (note sarcastic tone) haha I kind of agree to this whole thing though, there's just way too much of us out there. and honestly, its gonna be hard for those new grads and passers as well coz of the retrogression and only a number of hospitals can accomodate the number of nurses that are passing. But once and for all, PRC should make a solid and clear announcement on this one.

silverdragon is right. you first have to download the visascreen handbook found in cgfns.org and then fill it up accordingly. you will need to have your local license verified by the government (the form can be found in that handbook). your academic records need to be evaluated as well (the form, again, is in that handbook). also, your nclex result should also be verified. you can do this by forwarding a verification form (again in that VSC handbook) together with a letter and a $60 bankdraft as processing fee. pretty much all you have to do is read the handbook and you're set to go. more power to your career
