What does a positive TB test look like?
That's right Bitty babygrower, The ppd can be itchy to some. They forget about it and scratch it which makes it more swollen and the reading tend to be false. When you think that you didn't scratch it then once it's more than 5 mm in diameter thats def. positive. Lucky for me I had a BCG when I was a baby (coming from a developing country) I nursed many many TB patients in my life, checked me Mantoux often and reading was always neg. Remember not to scratch once taking the Mantoux, it's damn itchy.

long acting penicillin administration
Hi Lucianurse I am from solomon islands, nursing overseas. But when I was working in my country, vaccination is mandatory. Its the policy of the ministry of health that all children from age 0-8 months should be given vaccination from TB, polio, diptherea, tetorifice and measels. These can be repeated at the school age period esp, the tetorifice vac. The parents know that because these vaccines are protection from the communicable disease which is just around the corner, they felt obligated to do so. But just recently things have changed, I didn't see the community nurses doing the school satellite clinics anymore but parents can take them to the clinic if they think that these vaccines can protect their child from these comm. disesease that we often have esp TB, tetorifice, measels. Polio has been eradicated years agao and I still see measels and tetorifice cases once in 5-10 years.

What not to say / do while you are in the ER...
Heres one ...............many moons ago as well. 20- something carried by his 2 friends and G/F trotting behind. Overdose, overdose (at the top of the voice for everyone to see that hes about to die). Zoom in and put him on the OD bed. Assessment done, hello MR, check check ...vitals normal.........very conscious. G/F Cried , he took 20 chloroquine tablets( antimalarial tablets) hes going to die, quick!!!!! what time? 30 minutes ago....OMG ......must do something fast here. Told his friends and G/F to go to the WR And we're saying Mr we'll going to put this tube into your stomach to wash out the Chloroquine. And then he shouted noooooooooooooooooo, we asked him again how many chloroquine did you took ( 8tabs can zapped you off) I only took 4 tablets of paracetamol..........I felt sorry for the liver. Found out later...G/F had slept with his brother.

Re- mariage is over
Hey Lacie, The spark and intimacy has gone. Discuss your sexual life and your living together in general with your husband. Saying something like" Life is boring lets try something different." I hate to say that you had to make a move becos some Guys around this southern Hemispere can be not so romantic. The lovey dovey stuff dies out a month after the wedding. I once had a fiance and living together was great, but it started to become a routine and I tried something different like asked him to go out to the beach at night or travel to a different island, do different sexual moves but something was missing. I started thinking like "Is this the life am going to be living with when we get married? I will definitely ended up having an affair with a another guy". Anyway, I broke off the engagement and thank god! I didn't marry this guy. Hope everything turns out well for you.
