hand washing = sore hands, any good products available?
I don't think washing my hands after clearing up dogs mess is overdoing the hygiene, you should take a look at my house at the moment - covered in dust :) my assignments take priority over housework at the moment :chuckle I think the main problem has to do with the weather, we had a cold spell and the hot tap was very hot and the cold tap was very cold, seems to make my hands really bad. Weather has warmed and my hands are not bleeding and I'm still having to wash them the same amount go figure.

Thanks for all the replies. I thought there was a product that coated the hand and actually took a few handwashes before it washed off, I took a pharmacy assistants course before I decided to go into nursing and the bloke promoting the product said that nurses used it as they had to wash their hands alot but for the life of me I can't remember what it was called, he described it like an invisable glove that protects the hands from water for a few washes. Does wearing any kind of cream affect the gloves in any way? Just a thought. Thanks again :)

hand washing = sore hands, any good products available?
Hi I've just bought a new puppy and so I am always washing my hands, this has resulted in sore hands that have started to split and bleed - I went through exactly the same thing when I had my children and was always washing my hands. I'm wondering seeing as I will be going into a profession whereby handwashing is v. frequent and v. important, is there any product that I can use to protect my hands and stop them from getting so sore? Thanks :)

how are student nurses treated on placements?
Thanks for all the replies, I'm due to go on my first clinical in October so at least I'll be going somewhat prepared :chuckle Although I must admit that I'm really nervous about bathing someone for the first time :imbar

Aussie wants to go to Wales
When I lived in the UK I used to visit my Gran in Haverfordwest (South West Wales) every year. It's a lovely area, if I had not been granted approval to live in Australia then I would probably moved there. Good Luck with your move, I hope it's everything you dream it to be :) Remember to take a brolly, it's not luscious and green for no reason :chuckle

28yr old want to study 4 RN-What u think?
Hi there offshorepanda, I'm in my first year, although I actually went part-time last year due to moving house and my children moving to a new school etc. so I'm doing the degree in four years instead of three. Anyway, I would say go for it. It can be a little overwhelming in the beginning but stick with it, once you get the first couple of weeks over with and know where all your lectures etc are it gets easier. One word of advice would be try not to get behind. Good Luck with everything :)

new points test for nurses in Oz
Hi sunny 13, am I right in thinking that the points you are referring to are in reference to your application for the permanent residence visa, if so are you qualified in a different field ie. hairdressing etc as you get (or did when I went through the whole process) extra points for applying before you are 30. Remember that once you have validated your visa you have five years in which you have to settle here so you'd still have time to complete your nursing degree. Also as you're probably aware, the points system changes so it may change back in your favour. Good luck with the whole process, it's not fun but it's definately worth it :)
