I sized up...hated them but w/ that investment couldn't afford another pair until after graduation. Will not buy another pair of lead blocks.

I LOVED learning the how's and why's of the human body. I LOVE teaching pts about what is going on in their body, especially when you can see the light go on and everything makes sense. Studying just gave me opportunities to have the light go on regularly...although the books were overwhelming. I'm thinking of going back for an advanced degree...someday.

As a woman who had a male nurse while preparing for a Csection I have to admit it was weird having a man ask me if I wanted help w/ my panties! He was appropriate, it was just odd.

Also- you can usually check if you passed w/in 24-48hr on your state's dept of health website for free. Look in the "search credentials" part, put your name in and VIOLA! It shows that you are an RN! (occasionally not...but we won't focus on that!)

Pleasure reading!!! I don't know how many books I have read in the last 14months since I graduated...nice. Remember the NCLEX is testing your critical thinking, school tested the content. If you are clueless as to the particulars, think about what should happen. ABC's (airway, breathing, circulation...A is first, but breathing is priority for you), Nursing Process (always assess first), don't pass the buck. Hope that helps somebody.

I have seen an RN use a portion of a 10ml NS flush prior to IVP, recap, give med, then use the rest of the 10ml flush after the med. Is this kosher? I thought once used it was considered contaminated...she is proud of her cost effectiveness. What's your thought(s)?
