Just took Nclex-PN this morning shut off around 100
I had about 100 questions and it shut off, I am soo stressed out and hope I passed. I feel I could have prepared more for it, but I guess if I didn't pass I will just try again in 45days and study my butt off. Keep your fingers crossed for me. Thanks, Rick

Is it going to get harder than this
It will get harder, I excel in math above all else so its different for me, get yourself a nurse entrance exam practice book. The only reason I suggest this is that those books have a ton of math in them and every type of math as well, flip through the books first and check how much math is in them and buy the one with the most math.

So I graduated from my LPN program
I was in one of the most disorganized, most expensive programs you could find anywhere, and I have 25 other people that will tell you the same thing. I was stressed out for every test wondering what information that we were not taught, I kid you not. We had instructors dropping like flies, and if an instructor left right before a test or exam, we would be given an exam from another campus, which of course had nothing to do with what we were taught at the time. There is a ton of other stuff I went through in that school that no one should have to go through. As far as the program being hard and blah blah blah, I am fine with having a hard program, but not if the program is hard because of countless administrative mistakes and poor decisions. That program should have been way simpler if they had a good administrative staff from the beginning. So yes I think a bridge program will be light years easier than what I have been through, and I will be working in the field which I think will also aid a lot in the education.

So I graduated from my LPN program
I passed my finals and the Exit exam this week and am sooooo excited it is finally over. It was a horrible experience in school and I still can't believe it is all over just like that. Now All I have to do is prepare a little bit for the NCLEX and I am all set. Then I can start a bridge program or something.

Need Excelsior Clarification
Not yet, Money is really really tight right now and I am still in LPN school and have my mod 4 final in two weeks so I am concentrating on that right now. Then I will see where my money situation is and if I can afford to enroll right now. If not I will just wait a few months longer and save up. I know you can make pay plans and all that but I would rather wait and save some money just in case. I also have a mortgage to pay and things like that you know?

Did you just enroll?? They added a new thing on there which is a focused clinical course. exactly what you are asking. That is something new Also do you have any idea what the content guide names are for the 1 and 2 that I can download without enrolling. I cant seem to figure out what the titles are

Need Excelsior Clarification
That's what I am saying it is sooo confusing trying to find all the info on their website it seems everything has a different name than what I think I should look for.
-
Need Excelsior Clarification
so i suppose i will just download and print all the ones that have to do with nursing i guess.
-
Need Excelsior Clarification
do you know what the titles of these two guides are and exactly where you can find them because all i can find is things titled exam content guide:essentials of nursing.... etc etc
-
Need Excelsior Clarification
I have not yet enrolled just looking at all the info but I can not figure out which ones are the nursing concepts content guides, can you clarify maybe. I just want to download them all and have them in hand to read over and then decide where to buy my books and study guides from. Edit: I think the reason I can not see the concepts outlines and guides is because I am not enrolled and have not applied, does this make sense????

Need Excelsior Clarification
I went to their website (excelsior) so that I can download their content guides for the exams but I have no clue what to download... do I just download all their stupid nursing guides or what?? I am going to enroll after lpn school this summer but I am soooooo confused about this whole thing.

Need to vent...
I too feel this way nursing school has changed me and I am only in a 22 month LPN program and me and my fiancee have really hard times and really great times and it sucks. But on the flip side, you have 6 months left and then you start a great new life in my eyes. This is what I am holding out for and unfortunately it is not much but once it is all over you will love the fact that you did it.

Lincoln Tech LPN Day Program in New Britain in Sept/07.
I am currently in mod 3 and about to start mod 4 in the evening program. Plan on tons of studying, and if you are not ready to study than don't bother going. You CAN NOT have a personal life while going to this school. This program is your life and as stated I dont think it is worth the money, correction I know it is not worth the money. If I had to do it all over again I would have waited on a list or quit my job and gone to a state school with a day lpn program for like $6000 and struggled with life for that year or whatever rather than have to deal with the stuff I have had to in the passed 13months I have been at lincoln. With that said, I wish you luck and please please please put a lot of effort into it if you decide to go, otherwise you are just another number in the total of students that went and failed.

New England Tech in Shelton
I wish u luck Pixie and I am sure you won't ahve any trouble, by then the staff should be all set. Unfortunately my situation isn't an isolated one. I know for a fact that the Hamden campus also had many of the same if not more of the problems we had. I also agree the entrance tests are easy, I got a 100 on the math and 3 wrong on reading and comp. Personally I am doing well and am not really worried, as long as you keep your head in the game and stay focused you will do well. Don't let the drama of other get in to your head, as that is where most of the people in my program get stuck and they lose focus and start to get bad grades. Good luck bud. :pumpiron:

New England Tech in Shelton
Sorry but I have to voice my opinion here. I started this program back in August and am enrolled in the Night program at the New Britain Campus. I can second many of the thoughts and opinions that SueJara has voiced. Since August we lost one teacher, had a Bio midterm that was not properly prepared for which 3 people in the class passed and the remaining classes average was about a 50% . Needless to say this is the most disorganized school I have ever been to. The staff for evenings is totally new and disorganized. Oh yeah did I mention they told one student she failed out, then an hour later when she came back balling and hysterical, they said " Oh we made a mistake on your grades you didn't fail." We started with 62 students and now have 40 and we just got to mod 2. People with good grades have actually left to go to the state schools. Personally I am just gonna work through I am doing well this far so..... One thing that really gets me is that if you have a question about anything or you find something wrong, the staffs answer is pretty much, "Well when you are taking your board exam you can't question them." There are however some very nice teachers and staff, dont get me wrong. Just don't get fooled by this statement: " IF you check the Connecticut Board of Nurses website you can see that in the 5 (6?) years that NETI has had a LPN class, each of their 3 campuses have had 100% pass rate on first time NCLEX-PN testers. Not too shabby!" The reason for this is that by the time you get to mod 5, even though you started class with 60 class mates, you will end up with like 15. This is why their pass rate is so good, but they won't tell you that, they will let you see it yourself. All comments made here are my personal feelings and thoughts based on my experience thus far in the EVENING Program. A friend of mine in the day program said his program is much much more organized but they too have their griefs. Both me and my buddy have just decided to work our a**es off until the end so we can reach or goals and finally get the jobs we have wanted for so long. Oh yeah I had the same great experiences before the program much like the post before mine.
