Let's play a little game...
I went to nursing school in Georgia and thanks to the Hope Grant, Pell Grant and WIA (Workforce Investment Act), I had no out of pocket expenses.

THE PROCTOLOGIST EXAM
I think you are taking this way too seriously. It's humor!!!!!!! The guys that I did this to had no problem with it, they got the joke. I didn't leave the room until reassuring them that it was not time for that type of exam yet. It's a joke, they got it, why don't you.

Hospice has doped my dad!
All families have there own issues and when someone is dying it can bring out the worst. Don't worry about it, take care of your dad and know that in the end you did what was right no matter what everyone else thinks. I'm dealing with the same thing right now my grandfather is on hospice with lung CA and everyone says all kinds of nasty things about me, but it doesn't matter I'm doing what is in his best interest right now. Wish you the best with you Dad.

THE PROCTOLOGIST EXAM
I can't quit laughing. When I had male patients come into the office for a physical, the above 40 crowd because we did rectal exams on all those over 40 but not until than as a rule, I would pull out the KY and gloves just to see their eyes get bigger.

Best & Worst April Fool's Pranks
This is not nursing related but it really got me good. My fiancee and I went thru a drive thru to snag something to eat before going to a christian concert that morning. The cashier at the window took my $20 and as always used that conterfeit pen to check and make sure I hadn't just made it in my special printing factory the night before, LOL. The cashier just as calmly as could be had put a brown mark on the bill and looked at me and said "Maam we have a problem, I need you to pull over so we can call the police department." Since this was not an area that I was from and I had gotten the money from my bank that was 3 hours away, I paniced. My fiancee who happens to be one of the local police for that area even got his heart beating a little faster. I was so relieved when she laughed and said "April Fool's". I couldn't believe that I had forgotten what day it was, she really got me good.

Finally in
When I attended LPN school a few years back, even though it was only a class of 7 people, there was not one of us that did not have to deal with something life changing. It truely does take dedication and hard work but it is well worth it. Anything worth having you have to work for. As far as intelligence goes, it's not a matter of IQ. If you work hard you can accomplish anything you set out to do and the really good nurses aren't necessarily the ones who made the good grades. Good nurses are the one's that really care for their patients and take the time to make them feel like they are the number one priority. Good luck with your education and keep us posted.
