  1. You might try American Association of ambulatory care nursing or G.I. nursing Cytie website G I nursing insi G I nursing society sorry Siri auto type makes up its own words
  2. Mist tents for pedi cystic, steam sterilizing syringes, burning ur fingers on chemical"clinitest", for urine sugar, using sugar in large decubs, (
  3. This supposedly happened around L.A. in the early part of my nursing experiences, early 1970's. An elderly LOL, in a SNF, trying to "help" had been brushing patients dentures for them. However, she had collected ALL the patients dentures & what happened after that is still a mystery!
  4. Before plastic tubing , they used red rubber tubing , for everything! .
  5. I was a student in 1973! We HAD to wear caps, white hose & clinic "nursing " shoes. I remember carring metal "tubexes," so we could find one,for "htpos", glass meniscus cups, for titrating all your meds, ekg's that burned your fingers, if the needle burned the paper, & got stuck, AND bedsore/ decubitus treatment of "sugar" put directly into the wound , with a heat lamp, apparently it would not grow some bacteria, I don't remember, BUT it did work! I am 58 yrs. old. Go OLD nurses!
  6. Perhaps you have OCD. Easily treated with meds. The meds aren't problematic, either.
  7. That is ILLEGAL in Calif. I would highly reccommend calling , or emailing the Board of Registered Nursing , in Sacramento. I did just this, & there was no retailition, but that m.a. never did it again. Thanks for standing in the gap for our PROFESSION.
  8. You are soooooo right. I can't believe how some, not all of them act. Especially the uap's .(unlicensed assistive personel). Patients aren't being helped as they should be. My daughter, an ER nurse , was told by the manager he couldn't believe what a work ethic she had! Guess this old ?(seasoned ) RN did something right!
  9. I was proud to be an LVN for 5 yrs. , while I worked my way thru RN program. I worked full time while going to LVN school& most of our instructors were very supportive. Then when in c/c RN program, one instructor was soooooo hostile , she went out of her way to belittle, flunk, & criticize the LVN /RN students. They knew they held our future employability in their hands. By the way, when she retired, no one came to her "tea".I was offered a job to teach LVN's which I'd love to do, BUT @ 1/2 of my current salary. I just can't . It's a double edged sword. Keep on , we NEED each other!
  10. I have always found that all prejudice is based in ignorance. Do you know all 34.5 million people in Calif. ? I'm sure there are wonderful people in Philly., though I've never met ANY of them. Also , learn how to spell,& type, as you will need this to succeed in nursing school. Thanks, I feel better.
