  1. I use to work with 4 patients for day shift and 6 patients for night shift.
  2. But you know what I found out with all the nursing jobs I had. They sound so good, but in reality things change.
  3. Has anyone in Ontario or Canada for that matter, taken the Critical Care Nursing E-Learning graduate certificate program. I am just wondering how it would be if I took it while working full time. :)
  4. Thank you for the replies. I am planning to make my way up north for orientation in a isolated nursing station. :):roll
  5. Thanx for the reply. Well, I guess its always the unexpected eh? Whats agency nursing? I've met some nurses who I have worked with in a Nursing Station and they were agency nurses. One nurse was saying she works all over Canada for weeks at a time. Eventually, I'd like to work either in Nunuvat or NWT.
  6. Hello. Just wondering what types of questions would be likely asked in an job interview for outpost nursing? Any nurses out there doing outpost nursing right now. I'd like to hear from them.
  7. I studied for the CRNE using the competances noted in the CRNE Guide. The competances that I needed to work on is the areas I concentrated on. I found the exam like a mental workout. Time went to fast. But overall, I guess its what you have retained and what you know from Nursing School.
  8. I've always wondered about that myself. It is something I would like to do later on in life. :)
  9. I know the feeling - "alone", when you are away from family. Leaving family for a career/job is not what I would like to do again. On my shifts off, I felt like I had nothing to come home to. I left my children with my parents so I can adjust to another place for a nursing job. When I think about it, I don't think I would have done it that way. Even though the job was awesome. But I say, you got to look after yourself and whats important for you first over other things.
  10. Hi! Just wanted to know how other RN's are managing single parenting young children while working shift work? Cause I don't know how people can do it? Just want to hear how others have done that? I have an 8 year old son. :)
  11. I got my news this past Monday. I passed. AMEN!!!!
  12. I am waiting as well. Getting nervous/scared/excited about it. I'm in Ontario; so I don't know when we should be recieving our results for the June 7th exam? GOOD LUCK to all who did the CRNE!!
  13. Yes I wrote the exam too this past Wednesday. I felt like I was running a marathon mentally. I found it difficult to concentrate in the morning. Afternoon wasn't that bad. This was my third attempt at the exam. So I am hoping to have passed the exam this time. How is the passing grade determined anyways? Is it with the group we write with or is it the whole province?
  14. Well thank you for the posting. It really encourages me. Sometimes, thats what one needs. :) Thank you!
