  1. At my hospital, we have had 2 surgeons who were sent to anger management classes. They are much more restrained now but calling in the middle of the night can still be a problem.
  2. I never know what insurance people have until they leave and it makes a difference in the follow up care they receive
  3. I am a new nurse trying to master IV insertion. We have Protective Plus and Safe-T-Intima IVs available. I am doing fine with the Safe-T-Intima but the other is impossible for me to use. My nurse manager now tells me that these IVs are only for pediatric use and that I can't use them on Med-Surg, even though there are several nurses who use them exclusively. My question is about other peoples experiences. Are the Intima ones really inferior? I am told that they blow sooner and generally don't last as long as the Protective Plus. The whole thing irks me. It seemed the nurse manager just wanted to rain on my parade and voiced a personal opinion but I want to know what you all have to say. Thanks, Claudia
  4. I have been using the same book with much success. Always ask yourself: What is the most important aspect of the disease? Usually pain comes before anything else. Claudia
  5. I will graduate in May of 2007 with $ 5,300 in loans with my ADN. I am going to have my employer pay for the BSN with tuition reimbursement. I am glad that those of you with a lot in loans are still young. You will actually live to pay them off..... Claudia
