  1. The questions on the NCLEX are harder than Saunders in that you can narrow the question down to two options and then have to really critically think out the correct answer; unlike Saunders where I found you usually can pull out the answer or just have no idea. I did use Saunders as a tool to prepare for the test, as well as, learning.ext, and a small bit of Kaplan with a friend. I believe if I had only used Saunders I would have been in trouble on the test because I would have become frustrated at the difficulty level of the test. Just my thoughts though, everyone is different. Best of luck to you and hope this helps.
  2. Congrats to you RN. You guys in California are some strong souls waiting so long for your results.
  3. I noticed while taking my practice tests at home that at around question 40 - 50 I would start missing more questions in a row. Knowing this I decided when I took my NCLEX I would take a break around that time and did. I only took 5 minutes (went to the restroom and moved around for a minute). I do believe it helped me though. Best of luck to you.
  4. Try to remain positive and remember that you made it this far. Having recently taken the NCLEX I can tell you that doing the practice questions and reading the rationales behind the answers helped me the most. Like an above poster said, in the end it will help you to critically think out the questions. Remember your ABC's and follow the nursing process. I did 3000 practice questions before the test and it wasn't the content I learned from them that helped me make it through the test. Something about just answering the questions helped me think. I did use the learning.ext website and believe that was beneficial and one of the cheaper ways to go. I didn't read the content on the site but only answered the questions. I had about 18 meds on my exam and knew 2 of them for sure, most of the meds, as you will read on this site are CRAZY. Know your normal lab values. Also the Prioritization book you bought is GREAT! Hope this helps and good luck to you.
  5. I took my NCLEX on June 20th and passed with 75 questions also. Lots of prioritization, about 18 crazy med questions, and 2 check all that apply. I used the Prioritization, Delegation, and Assignment book by Mosby that someone was nice enough to post on this site. Great book! The test was hard but the 48 hrs of waiting was miserable. It makes you appreciate your license that much more!!!! Congrats to those that passed and good luck to those who have yet to take the test. Try to be positive and believe in yourself.
  6. Rachel i got the book. I sent you a private message too.
  7. Thank you so much for getting back to me so quick. I am off to see if they have the book. I take my boards on June 20th. Congrats to you and thanks for posting this information.
  8. Can someone tell me the exact name of the book? I just called Barnes and Nobles and they could not find it in their computer under Priority, Delegation. Also does anyone know the price? Thanks in advance.
  9. Thank you for writing me back. It would be nights on med/surg. Is Spring Valley a union hospital? any other info you can share would be appreciated.
  10. Can anyone in Vegas that has worked at either of these facilities give me the pro's and con's of each. I am a new grad and am looking for the hospital that will help me develop a solid foundation during my first year. Thanks in advance for any information you can share.
