  1. Hello. I am new on this site. Does anyone out there know how I can start a new thread? Someone named Thunderwolf said to click on "Forum Tools", but there is nothing that says that on my yellow bar. Thanks for any help.
  2. What you say has validity. More studies are needed to determine which alternative therapies are helpful and which are not. No one is willing to fund these studies because they don't profit the pharmaceutical industry or anyone else.
  3. Yes. Herbs certainly can be dangerous. They are potent substances. Which is why they shouldn't be used indiscriminately. However, pharmaceutical agents are dangerous too. Some researchers claim that 25% of hospital admissions are realted to complications from meds or treatments.
  4. Agree with James Huffman. It's too bad that "alternative" and "conventional" practitioners are at such loggerheads. Wouldn't it make more sense to use whatever methods work for the patients, whether they are alternative or conventional? I spoke with a doctor in a clinicc who said that at one time, he was using a combination of herbs for his cardiac patients, and having successful results. He had to quit because his patients' insurance companies refused to pay for the herbs. We are held in thrall by the insurance and pharmaceutical industries.
  5. It's ironic that health care professionals are sued right and left in this country when the real cause of the declining health status of its citizens is malnourishment and exposure to various toxins. The increasing number of children born with birth defects is shocking. Yes--if you depend on fast and packaged foods for your "nourishment", you are undernourished.

Another thing to consider is that each home you are asked to visit should have been visited and checked out previously by someone in a more senior position.
  7. This must be a forum for red necks. Women are human beings believe it or not.
  8. Now I'm curious to read the book. I have helped myself with natural "remedies", and know other people who have. There are many books out there that talk about alternative health modalities. You might want to read them and compare with this author. The problem with allopathic medicine is its lack of interest in prevention. I would like to see nurses lose their jobs because people prevent illnesses.
