APPLICATIONS are NOW DUE: NOVEMBER 30, 2015 If you graduated from the program prior to 2011, you are invited to apply again with a team of school nurses and community partner(s). Please do not miss the opportunity to experience the redesign of this professional development program! The Johnson & Johnson School Health Leadership Program is a highly competitive, free, professional development program for school nurses and their community/school partners. Designed by Rutgers University in collaboration with Johnson & Johnson, this nationally recognized 18-month fellowship program empowers school nurses and community/school partners to become leaders within their schools and community health services teams. The Fellowship program includes online and in person learning opportunities, including participation in a July 6-day residential institute. School nurse teams from communities across the country are invited to apply NOW to begin the fellowship in the spring of 2016. Accepted applicants will have all educational expenses, excluding travel to New Brunswick NJ, paid for and receive CEU's for their participation. "but being a one man band here, i don't think i'd ever qualify" Why would you say that? It is a team application. Teams can be district wide, region wide, state wide. It requires a minimum of two nurses and one community partner. Community partners have been from the school administration, public health, non profits, foundations, YMCAs, community organizations, lead school nurses, state government, ........ The U S Department of Education Family Policy Compliance Office (FPCO) is receiving inquiries regarding the applicability of the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act (FERPA) in regard to the disclosure of personally identifiable information from education records to local health officials. Given these inquiries, Dale King, the Director of the U S Department of Education Family Policy Compliance Office (FPCO) sent out this reminder of the guidance issued by FPCO in October 2009 in response to privacy and public safety concerns at that time regarding the H1N1 flu outbreak. This guidance document is available on our website at: http://www2.ed.gov/policy/gen/guid/fpco/pdf/ferpa-h1n1.pdf Although, the guidance is specific to H1N1, the context of the guidance is applicable today in terms of Enterovirus D68, Ebola, etc. Additional questions may be forwarded to [email protected].

Can you break a school contract due to relocation?
I quit mid year twice and it was not a big deal. Once I was able to give 4 weeks notice, the other time, 6 weeks. My husband always left first, and I followed once house sold. The districts understand relocated spouses.
