  1. I read it the same way.
  2. Before I decided on a major, I signed up for a Geology course. To my surprise, right before classes started I found out that instructor had left suddenly so we were all transferred to "Science of Biology"...a survey course for non-science majors. I stayed in the class because I connected with the instructor that first day. I was so glad I stayed in there. That class not only got me over my fear of the sciences, it helped me decide to go into nursing, something I had considered but thought would be too hard. I know even though it was a "beginner's" type class, it really helped me so that now I feel ready to take on A&P and any other science classes.
  3. Some colleges around me have what they call an "academic fresh start." Meaning if it's been at least 10 years, they don't worry about those previous grades. The junior college I went to didn't even want a transcript because my credits were waaayyy more than 10 years old. I would go in and talk to an advisor and see if the same might hold in your case, even though it's not quite been 10 years. Good luck in returning to school!
  4. This might be too far from you to consider, but I had two friends get in on their first try to the ADN program at Trinidad State Junior College.
  5. We lived in Fort Collins a short while, but we really liked it and I'm keeping it in mind as a possible permanent location. My kids really loved their school, O'Dea Elementary. The libraries were nice, there are rec centers, etc. The town was clean with no pollution (compared to Denver area). The housing prices seemed lower than Denver/Springs areas but as far as utilities I don't know since we had all bills paid. Hope this helps!
