Hey! Very curious about what your "nontraditional" post doc was. I am in the middle of a PhD right now and not sure what to do afterward but I am not really interested in academia.

Hi! I am about to have an interview for a BSN in the PhD program. Would you happen to have any advice on the interview? Also, are you still happy with your school/deciding to go back to school?

I have been looking into infectious disease and tropical medicine courses and was curious if anyone has taken this course. If so, can you tell me about your experience?

I talked to an Air Force Reserves Health Professions recruiter, and they told me they do not need RNs now. The recruiter said to reach back after I have had about eight months of experience on the floor as a nu. They might need individuals then, and it takes a little while to get on. The recruiter mentioned that you needed one year of experience and that there were no NP positions in the Air Force Reserves.

I have one year left in my BSN program and will be 30 in less than a month. I currently work in a large academic medical school's Trauma Surgical Cardiovascular Intensive Care Unit, the VA in the ER as a VALOR intern and as an EMT on a 911 service. I plan to go on to school and get a DNP. Should I join right out of school next year or gain experience at either the ER or ICU? From experience, would you recommend the Airforce of the Navy? Thank you in advance for any advice!

I am in my first semester of nursing school and am interviewing for a Critical Care Assistant position in the TSICU/CVICU. I am an EMT but have only done my basic health assesement skills checkoff. I am curious what I should expect in this kind of position?

I don't need chef prepared meals or fancy housing, I have worked abroad and an experience in Ethiopia is what led me to go back to school for nursing. Any advice or recommendations on a program would be much appreciated! Long term goal is to be a CRNA and to work in developing countries. (I speak Arabic and am currently an EMT)

Hi, I know this is an old post but I was curious if you were able to find out more or if you ended up volunteering for Doctors Without Boarders?

I am switching career paths and finishing up my prerequisites. There are two programs in my area (Northwest Arkansas), accelerated associate of nursing and a B.S.N. program. I already have a master’s degree but in an unrelated field so I would love the idea of an accelerated program but I am worried if I go with the ASN I might have a hard time getting hired after nursing school. I am also planning on getting my MSN. What program would you suggest? Does anyone know if it is hard to get hired with an ASN in NWA?
