  1. Anyone would recommend 2 electives in UT Arlington that are easy to take with other classes? I want to double up with other classes, but would like something easy to handle.
  2. After accepting they will the email you.. 1-fill out employment documentation 2-background check information 3-Occupational health questions 4-they will schedule your vaccination turn in person called occupation health appointment
  3. You are right, I start in May and got my appointment 2 weeks ago.
  4. 5, people that can fill a survey about your work. Obviously ppl you have work with, and at lease 1 supervisor. You can also use school professors.
  5. I am on med-surg floor. I got my offer in February also. I already filled the pre-employment documents they have to send u a link and you do it only. You also get an occupational health appointment where you give them all you documents of your shots, which I have this week.
  6. Same background, took 25 applications to get my job offer. Don’t give up!
  7. I worked in customer service too before nursing. The job that I do, I wouldn’t change it, I love helping others. Maybe get a job as a tech in a hospital and you can get a better idea if nursing is for you. You can get a better picture on what your job will be as a nurse. Working in this field can allow you to connect better with classmates if you end up deciding that nursing is for you.
  8. At lease 2 managers from your last jobs, if you haven worked you can use professors or clinical preceptors. The others can be ppl you worked with. Yes they fill out a survey.
  9. What I have seen with others, they let you know the next day for first choice. If anyone doesn’t accept, they have a chance 3 days later.
  10. My personal experience, I was a general manager, making good money. My passion had always been nursing. I decided to save enough money to quit my job and start nursing school without working. I am a nurse today and I would not change it for anything. Money has never been a factor to do what is my passion.
  11. https://allnurses.com/new-grad-losing-hope-getting-t715289/ For those that feel hopeless. This is my story.
  12. SICU will ask you. What are you scare of? I thought it was a hard question.
  13. I had no hospital experience. I graduated in May 2019 with a ADN. I passed my Nclex by August 2019. I started to apply to all the hospital by January 2019, but nothing. I started working in home healthcare, which I did not really wanted to, but I had to make money to start my BSN. I was glad, I gained some skills. I ended up applying to 35 residency programs in the hospital of my dreams plus who knows how many more in other hospitals. By December I got 2 interviews, and in February 2020 I had other 2. I ended up getting a job in MedSurg. I start in May 2020, a year later after my graduation in MY DREAM HOSPITAL. It was a long way but I perceived and kept trying. Do not give up.
  14. For me personally, because it is a country hospital, there is a lot of patients all the time which is a great opportunity to learn. This is also a great teaching hospital. I had clinicals here for 2 semesters.
  15. I got hospitalist med surg 13th floor.
