  1. I’m surprised this is an issue. How difficult would it be for the facility to pull up the camera on that patient and see who the negligent staff is that hasn’t been turning them?
  2. Usually the inappropriate conversations I hear are from CNAs and LPNs but I’m entertained every single time.
  3. I mean I’ve seen idiots in every field and stellar people in every field.
  4. Yep. I love the doctors I work with. Personal friends with several.
  5. Not based on what I’ve seen coming back from nursing homes. Some are definitely better, but some are disgusting. We looked around a good while before we put my grandma in one.
  6. Not the experience I had. I gave up on using the VA. It sounds pretty hit or miss.
  7. Sounds like. That’s one of my few veterans benefits I do NOT use. The care those veterans get is shameful.
  8. If it’s a state law I have no issue. A federal law would be overstepping.
  9. I have a passion for gerontological nursing, but I’ll do it on a step down ?
  10. I don’t have it and I don’t know anyone with it. Usually they’re going after the people with the money. Namely the hospital itself.
  11. Eh I’m for personal choice. Convince people to get vaccines and more transparency will help. The big problem is people don’t trust the corporations that create the vaccines, and I honestly don’t blame them. It is proven fact that American citizens have been tested on. If people truly believe it is what’s best, they will line up to get vaccines. The more you force them, the more you’ll fuel their paranoia.
  12. With you on floor nurses. No way I would take on 8 patients. Talk about run your *** off. I did that at LTAC for a year and a half and never again.
  13. Is it inaccurate? What’s a more task oriented nursing specialty?
  14. It’s not an insult. It definitely takes skill- time management. That was one thing working LTAC gave me aswell. It’s just not the kind of work I enjoy. Nothing wrong with it. Just a lot of running like a chicken with your head cut off, and more responsibility than you have reasonable time to ensure. Hats off to them, you have to be passionate to work in a nursing home. I LOVE my geriatric patients (especially combat vets) but it’s still not for me. I’ll take care of them in the hospital.
  15. God no. That’s probably the most task oriented nursing job there is. “Alright let’s pull these pills for 60 people.”
