  1. CONGRATS I WILL GRADUATE ON MAY 08 2009 :dncgbby: :dncgbby: :dncgbby:
  2. Congrats and job well done to all :dncgbby:
  3. Congrats to all:) My pinning will be May 08 a few days after my B-day and a couple days after my anniversary. It was a journey for myself and my family. A couple of weeks to go!!!!!!
  4. I was looking through Allnurses.com to see if others posted ATI codes. Well I cant give out the codes because ATI is copy written and you have to pay to get a login and password. Sorry but I didn't want to get in trouble. I don't understand why your school hasn't supplied you with the codes. How do they expect you to pass if you haven't prepared for the exam. I would check in with them again bc thats not fair. I wish I could be of more help:(
  5. Do you have the ATI practice codes? I see you mentioned Hesi, do you have to take that to? My only suggestion would be to practice the codes and remember ATI is knowledge based not exactly like NCLEX. Go into the exam very positive, remember you have worked so hard to get to this point. Remember you CAN do this:)
  6. I took the exam about two weeks ago it was 180 questions that had to be completed within 3hrs. Our school wanted you to achieve a 90% pass rate for NCLEX or a 71.3 or better on ATI. I didn't think it was that bad considering I never passed any of the ATI exams we did during the semester. On the comprehensive I achieved 76.3 which was a 96% chance I would pass the NCLEX first time. Well hope this helps:) GOOD LUCK ALL and do those practice exams:)
  7. You will be fine. We had to resort to T.V. diners. LOL
  8. I have ATI incoperated into my nursing program. I personally feel like ATI is mostly knowledge based, I mean its different than NCLEX style questions from what I have heard about NCLEX. Do they have a sample test you could take to get an idea of their test before you spend that much money? What about just NCLEX Prep books? I went to this seminar and their was a lady their who has these NCLEX books that are suppose to help, you can't buy her book in stores but could go on line to www.statnursing.org. Well hope this helps.
  9. Hello I am currently in my last semester of nursing school. My program is accelerated and I have 5 children, when I was accepted into nursing school I was pregnant and due when classes started. I think it was tuff getting thru nursing school but If your husband is willing to pick up the slack with the kids, around the house things and things you use to do then you would be fine. Nursing for me has been hard as far as not seeing my family as much as I would like on not having the energy to cook dinner or clean. I had to remember I would not be a student always. Just prepare yourself and your husband for the road ahead. KEEP YOUR HEAD UP AND EYE ON THE PRIZE . Hope this helps.
  10. I have finals on Monday. Its my last final for nursing school. I am very nervous, I have studied but I am not sure if it is enough. Well wish me luck!!!!
  11. I feel like that even though the Dr. perscribed the meds, doesn't mean they can't be abused and even then the pt is at risk. I think that you should mind your own business unless that person is a threat to their pts health... To each their own even if that means illegial or legal drugs unless THE PT IS AT RISK then THE superior should be spoken with immediately...
  12. hello every one, I am currently in NRN204-205 at boyce starting in spring. My experience was okay. I felt like the teachers helped a lot, I had great clinical sites but everyone wasn't as lucky. I am in the fast track class and I heard that the day was very different than night/weekend. They wanted us to purchase the books from them in NRN101 as a package.... it was expensive. I wish you luck and congrats on the baby.. Hopefully in May 2009 I will be grauduating!!! Oh I think you will be fine getting in the higher your GPA the better chance you have getting in..
  13. I currently attend Boyce and I love it. They give us so much help, it seems as if they want us to pass. I have heard so many bad things about allegheny!! I promise that if you decided to attend Boyce you wouldn't be dissapointed. I attend the night class which is fasttrack. Come check us out. Hope this helps...
  14. I thank all of you so much for all the advice. I knew I could turn to you all for help. I have decided to go for it!! I do have a wonderful husband and family for support with the baby, while I attend school. I have to submit my app. by the end of the month and your input and others have really helped me in this decision. Thank you again!!!!!!!
  15. Thanks for all your input. It wasn't what I wanted to hear, but I do agree. It just bothers me that I will have to sit out. About taking up a spot that others planned their life for.... I planned mine to but things happen. Thanks again!!!!!
  16. Hello everyone!!! I want to start nursing school in the Spring, the problem is I am pregnant and I am also due in Jan.2008. My problem is that I don't know if I should sit out with the baby or take my chances with a newborn and four other kids and the wok of a student nurse. I do have help but I dont know if the workload for nursing school and a newborn goes well with each other. I really want to attend school and I don't think it is necessary to sit out for eight months. What do you guys think? I have to make a decision by Sept. Thank you!!!
  17. Hi I am a freshman in school. I wanted to know if anyone here has failed any classes and had to take them over? I failed AP. I am taking it over in the fall but I was worried that nursing may not be for me. Not only that but I applied to a nursing school that gave a test to get into their school. They didn't require you to have any pre-reqs. I failed that. I don't know if nursing is for me.. Should I stay in there or get out now.
  18. They mailed me a letter that said that I have a test on such and such date. I got my results back. I failed. I don't know what to do know. It has me wondering is nursing for me. Should I stay at CCAC or pick another major? I am so confused.. How did I fail I studied and I didn't stumble on any questions... Well I wish you the best of luck.....
  19. Thank you for that information. It worries me how many apps. they have. I know I might not stand a chance..... I spoke to Ms.Turka( she's the one who handles the test). She told me that she sent out the results last Friday. So my test scores are on the way but I'm not sure now that I want them... My heart pounds when I think about it. So I'm keeping my hands crossed. I will also cross them for you too.....
  20. I think cells and ATP. Some AP but not much. Study mostly things about cells and you will be fine.:offtopic: Did your friend just start? How is Shady side to him/her? Does he/she like it? How was clinical? I hope this helps. Did you try the study guides that they suggested? Try a bio sat book. I wish you luck, hope you get your results back fast or you'll be like me bald(ha,ha,ha). Do you know the app. due date. I think it is April 21, but since they changed the test date this date may be changed also.
  21. Sounds good, I will try but is it really worth it. I have a c in the class. Do you think I should take it over to get a better grade?
  22. Oh okay I wish you luck. So since they extended the test date are they doing the same for the app. If so what day is that do in? I am currently in AP1 at CCAC. I am having trouble getting in AP2 because all the classes are full. So I might have to take AP1 again if I get into Shady side.. The wait for the test is so long. :offtopic: I am taking Micro and medical terminology this summer since I can't take AP1. So what ya doing this summer?
