  1. What I'm I missing here? How is your fake degree gonna help you pass the NCLEX? That's what is there for right? To ensure a minimal standard is met regardless of a crappy or fake nursing school. Also the BON at my state requires schools submit all paperwork directly to the board to approve for testing. No way these fake schools are by passing the board and given eligibility to sit for the NCLEX. The idea that people with fake nursing degrees are out there caring for your loved in a hospital seems a little far fetched. We all should be more concerned about the burned out nurses with REAL degrees that are out there cutting corners.
  2. “Nobody calls out on my unit”
  3. I was able to see past this misconception early while still in nursing school. I avoided many of the stigmas and pitfalls by choosing to work in the specialty that I loved from the get go. To many nurses get sucked into soul sucking environments for various reasons at the start of their careers, only to see the years fly by. At the end of the day the best nurse is the one who genuinely cares about the patient. Burn out is real and noticeable. Sure I couldn’t their job but they wouldn’t be able to do mine either. That’s the beauty of having a specialty.
  4. Healthcare is a business is this country- All major hospitals have A CEO which ultimately is responsible for making profits for shareholders AT ALL COST. That means cutting safety and corners wherever possible to keep profits, even if it means poor staffing ratios and unsafe practices. Welcome to the ugly side of capitalism. Once you realize that - you learn to “play” the game. I for one, refuse to work in a hospital. I refuse to be part of that “system” and the soul sucking culture that lives there. I love being a nurse so I protect my passion for nursing by avoiding toxic places. While no place is perfect the hospitals are the worst by a long shot. A jaded, burned out, and cranky nurse is terrible thing to encounter. Unfortunately I see more and more too often.
  5. Pay school teachers great for them but pay nurse also and every other group that’s had to be face to face during this pandemic.
