I have a question for those who have received an acceptance letter for the Texas State PMHNP Fall 2019 start. Did they give you an orientation date? If so, any details would be appreciated. My application will not be submitted for another day or two (waiting on one of my recommenders?). I would really love to get accepted. Praying....

Thanks prnpizza. Sorry for the confusion. I got an email not a letter in the mail. I will definitely call them. Thanks ?- PMHNP Fall 2019
Congratulations prnpizza. I got accepted too! Did your letter say “on campus MSN NP program”? I know they told me that most is online but now I’m a little doubtful as to if I can do the program if there is lots of on campus classes?Hopefully it will work out! Should I call them?- Texas PMHNP programs
Congratulations LinhNguyen! I am sorry I can’t offer leads on preceptors at this point because I’m still in the application process. May I ask something in regards to the essay and goals for Texas State’s application? I am typing directly into the form they provided on their application page but I’m not sure how many words maximum is allowed. It says three pages so depending on formatting that could vary greatly. Are they expecting APA format? If so that is double spaced three pages which seems a bit short. Thanks in advance for any advice.- Texas PMHNP programs
Good to know mede126! I’ve been waiting to hear about acceptance/denial from UTA. In the meantime I’m applying to Texas State (deadline June 15th) and Texas Tech (deadline August 1st). I was really concerned about UTA having on campus classes while I’m working Monday through Friday 8-5 but since on campus class is only 4 times a semester it could possibly work if I use PTO. I may look at moving into a 12 hour inpatient job at some point because I’m assuming clinicals will interfere with my current job schedule. So much to think about.....- Texas Tech MSN-PMHNP Spring 2020

Hey 1day. I haven’t got to the essay portion yet. I have 3 recommenders so far but wanted to ask if I can have 4. Do you know if you can put more than three or does it cut you off at three? Also, where are the essay directions? Do you have to submit the application before seeing essay requirements and instructions? Sorry for so many questions but I have one more....what do you think I should put in “activities and distinctions”? Thanks ?- Texas PMHNP programs
Thanks for the input Tiffany. I’ve done a lot of investigation since my post so I have some info that may help your husband. Texas State does have a part time option so your husband can probably work FT, at least for the first semester. Yes, it is a new program but as you stated their track record for FNP is very good. I was warned about MSU by a few people so I am not considering them at this point. Will probably do UTA or Texas Tech if accepted but we shall see. Best of luck to your husband and thanks for responding!- Texas Tech MSN-PMHNP Spring 2020
Anyone applying to TTUHSC MSN-PMHNP? I am in the process and would love to know if you have any suggestions about how to approach the essay and resume portions of the application. I am a BSN-RN. My ADN GPA: 3.85 and my RN-BSN GPA: 4.0. I have been an RN for 5 years. I worked on a Med-Surg unit for 1 year, OR for 3 years, Medical Device QA for 11 mos. and currently work in Mental Health Outpatient Clinics full-time. I have always wanted to specialize in a Psych and just started in the BH clinics. I absolutely love it and have found my niche for sure. Hoping and praying that TTUHSC might consider me for PMHNP. Look forward to hearing from others! ?- PMHNP Fall 2019
Hi prnpizza. I called two days ago and they said several weeks! Yikes! They said orientation is this Summer. Hopefully we know by June since we need time to arrange for financial aid, loans etc. Crossing my fingers?- Midwestern State University PMHNP program
Congratulations and good work! UTA will let you do full time if you choose. The same with Texas Tech and Texas State. Your husband is so lucky! Best of luck to both of you!- Midwestern State University PMHNP program
Hi TiffyRN. That’s great he got accepted! I’m still waiting to interview since they rescheduled it for early May. Does your husband work FT? I’m concerned that they don’t provide a PT option. I need FT hours for as long as I can hack it. Texas State is a brand new PMHNP program but they have had an FNP program for awhile now. I’m waiting on UTA to see if I’m accepted or not.- PMHNP Fall 2019
Hey there! Applied too. I was trying to get certification pass rates for this program. Have you looked into their pass rates or know where pass rates for Texas PMHNP programs can be found? Thanks in advance. Hoping we get accepted. Good luck ? - PMHNP Fall 2019
