  8. Need Advise, New Job

Just... good luck. The hardest part will probably be time management (it is for me). Just be willing to learn and it will hopefully all come together. Being nervous isn't always a bad thing, by the way. I would be worried if you weren't at least a...

  16. NLN Exam

Definitely possible to pass. I had a study guide for the exam and hardly used it and passed pretty easily. Focus on English, Math and Science basically. Pick up a study guide at the bookstore and set a date to take the test! Get it over with :)
  17. Graduate nurse never inserted foley :/

How common is it to be in this situation? In clinical only a few people had a chance to insert (I think 2 or 3 out of 8 in my group). Not only have I never inserted a foley, but I've never inserted or D/C'd an NG tube, among other skills. The only th...

  19. New grad LPN on tele floor

I am a new grad and will be working on a medsurg floor starting this week. As with Vman, here in Delaware it's not within the scope of practice to have LPN's do new admit assessments. (at least where I work) ChronicNurse gave very good advice. Good ...

  21. Graduate nurse never inserted foley :/

Tweety- I already got set up with a preceptor. She is a wonderful nurse with tons of experience... although, recently while working as a tech I overheard her mention how she doesn't enjoy precepting... AND someone told me that she recently made a ne...

Well I take it tomorrow and the nursing educator put me at ease by telling me I can use a calculator and they supply us with med books so that's awesome. What more could I need :)
  25. med test for new gpn position

I am starting orientation this week and have to take a med test. i've obviously taken med tests before, but it was in school and not at a hospital so it wasn't as big of a deal as this (to me). I'm nervous... I know my math but I'm not sure what meds...
