Disclosure of expunged juvenile records?
Usually, most Boards don't require disclosure of juvenile records..yet alone expunged ones. You can always call your BON anonymously and ask to inquire. Best of luck!

I fiiiinnnally submitted my interview - it took forever! How long did it take for everyone to here back? I'm not expecting anything since it's my first interview. Anyways, have anyone interviewed with Virginia Mason? I have a phone interview with the recruiter for the OR program that starts ... in feb!

WA RN hopeful with a DUI: Keep going or give up?
Oops. I meant to say -- if you proceed with deferred sentencing aka "nolo contendere" and complete probation without incidences, charges or a guilty plea should be dismissed. Then there shouldn't be a "conviction" listed on your record. I'd check out the specifics for your state. Good luck

How long does it take Washington BON to post license?
Hey yes! I received my temp permit ~1 week later in the mail. I think they'll mail a hard copy of the permanent license. But you can also download a copy via Nursys after you register.

How long does it take Washington BON to post license?
Hiiiii. Here's my timeline: - 11/19: submitted app to WA - 12/12: "pending" license on PCS - 12/16: received ATT - 12/27: took NCLEX & passed - 1/3: active practice permit - 1/16: active license ** I think mine took ~2 months because I was an out-of-state applicant & the fingerprint check took some time! Best of luck ?

WA RN hopeful with a DUI: Keep going or give up?
Is there any way you can request to enter deferred prosecution if it's not too late? It'll allow your charge to be expunged...especially if you will do what it takes to never let it happen again. If not, you will have a misdemeanor conviction on your record.

Are you currently a nursing student?

WA RN hopeful with a DUI: Keep going or give up?
Hi there! I'm so sorry that you're going through this! You are not alone! I would recommend calling lawyers who have experience dealing with the BRN and see what they say. That's what I did for my situation...however, my incident (resulted in a felony drug charge) occurred over a decade ago. You need to write an honest letter of explanation and include it with your application. Discuss the situation, what you've learned from it, and what you are doing now to prevent a reoccurrence to be a safe practicing nurse. Also, it's important to include certified court documents, police reports, rehab records, and letters of recommendation from those who can attest to your rehabilitation efforts. If you can, I think it'd be super helpful if you got a substance abuse evaluation to further strengthen your application. I'd include everything with your initial application so that it speeds up your application process. I can't say if the WA BRN will issue you an unencumbered license because your incident is pretty recent. BUT don't give up!! I would also read through AN and see what others did to get licensures. I did, and it was super helpful. Best of luck! xoxoxo

Thanks! Was this for the in-person interview or video? I created my account for the video interview and saw that there are 17 questions! How was the video interview ? It’s my first interview, so hoping I do ok. Thanks again ?

Nice! Thanks for the heads up. I found this question floating around online; Please share about a time when your assigned patient was exhibiting symptoms that made you feel like you needed to act quickly to intervene. What was the situation, what did you do, what was the outcome? Did they ask you this question too?

Got my ATT: Is this a good/bad sign?
Thank you for this - I did exactly what you advised! I passed NCLEX and was issued a temp practice permit and I'm now just waiting for my permanent license.

Got my ATT: Is this a good/bad sign?
Hello all! I am looking for advice. So...after graduation, I applied directly to WA state for my nursing license from out-of-state. I disclosed my 10-year drug possession felony & misdemeanor charges, all of which were dismissed via deferred entry of judgment, in my application. I also included a lengthy letter of explanation, certified court documents, police reports, probation reports, rehab documents, substance abuse/mental evaluation, and letters of recommendation. After 4 weeks of waiting anxiously, my name appeared on provider credential search and then a week later... I unexpectedly received my ATT and I signed up for NCLEX. But now, I feel confused because I got my ATT before I submitted my fingerprints. I am worried that it's a conditional approval pending my fingerprint results, even though WA didn't say that. However, I have nothing to hide-- I've been upfront and honest about my charges in my application. I also did my own livescan to confirm. Maybe I'm just overreacting because I've been worrying about this for so long that perhaps I think it's too good to be true. What do you all think -- is it a good sign that WA is allowing me to take NCLEX? Thank you in advance ?
