Congrats on the acceptance to Duke! Hopefully you get into UNC as well since it’s your first choice but I’m sure you’ll be fine. I’m using my VR&E benefits since the GI Bill wouldn’t cover Duke’s tuition. It took a minute to get my initial appointment with my counselor (I want to say about six weeks after completing the application) but once I had that first phone meeting with my counselor, the ball started rolling so keep trying that avenue as well.

Getting close to that time! So I know I started this thread but I ended up getting accepted to Duke and the deadline to commit was a few months ago so I made the decision to commit to that program. Thankfully my veterans benefits are covering it otherwise I wouldn’t be going since it is SO dang expensive. Still, I’ll be looking forward to you guys sharing good news when decisions are released for UNC. Good luck guys!

I’m married with two kiddos and will be buying a home and planting roots right before school starts. I’m currently near Fayetteville and have been looking into either Cary or Durham. Only thing about Durham is that even though homes are a little cheaper, it seems all the public schools have poor ratings. Cary is more expensive but has better schools. Can anyone offer their two cents or does anyone on this forum have kids that have been in Durham public schools?

Has anyone emailed admissions to ask if they have a target date in mind for releasing decisions? I'd do it but I feel like I've bothered them enough over the past month. LOL.

@EllaGyasi I attended an information session a couple of months ago. Honestly, it mostly covered information that's already on the website. They mentioned that they typically receive about 269 applicants and admit 104 each year. A lot of time was spent going over the requirements (prerequisites, minimum GPA's, etc). They stressed that they do a holistic review for all applications. I submitted my NursingCAS application on the 1st and just submitted my supplemental application yesterday. I'm kind of wishing I didn't do it so early because that just means more time for me to sit here anxiously awaiting a decision which won't be until October.

Mine is still "Ready for Review". I just hope it actually gets reviewed since I applied so late. We'll see.

Hi everyone! I'm a little late to the party and to applying- literally just applied the other day after going back and forth about whether I should or not. I emailed the office of admissions and they essentially said there's a chance my application will still be reviewed even though I missed the priority deadline so we'll see what happens. The program tuition is $92,964

Hey everyone, I'm planning on applying to UNC Chapel Hill's ABSN next month in the hopes of getting accepted into the Summer 2022 cohort. Didn't see a thread for 2022 so I figured I'd start one. I have another question for those that were accepted or anyone that can answer really: were you able to get the critical thinking requirement satisfied by other courses that weren't explicitly "critical thinking"? I read from previous cohorts that a few people were able to get credit with Eng. Comp I and II but I want to know if that was just the exception of if other students have been able to fulfill that requirement with other courses.

Hello, I’m planning on applying to the Summer 2022 cohort and am wondering if any current/previous students would be willing to share one or a couple of their class schedules just so I can get a better idea of what to expect.

Thank you so much for the words of encouragement! Also, just noticed the schedules you posted and that makes me feel so much better. For some reason I was thinking that each class would only be like 2-3 weeks long. Looking forward to hopefully getting accepted for 2022, making lifelong friends and one day being able to call myself a graduate of this program. Thank you again!

First of all, congrats to all those that were accepted! I'm planning on applying to the 2022 cohort so I've been lurking looking for more information and this thread was very helpful. I moved from Tucson to North Carolina earlier this year to start a new job after separating from the military. Of course if accepted into the program, I'd be quitting my job and moving my family back to Arizona. Does anyone know of any out-of-state applicants that were accepted into the program? How many things had to be accomplished in person prior to the program starting in January? I'm just trying to plan out, if accepted, how much time I'd have between being notified and having to physically be in Phoenix.
