  1. I am so excited/nervous to have officially accepted a position in CVICU! I have 9 months experience in Cardiac PCU and decided I wanted the challenge of this career move. I'd love any advice, book recommendations, etc, for a newer nurse in the CVICU setting. (This was my dream job since nursing school!) Background on the hospital: Level 1 trauma, specializes in heart/lung transplants, ECMO, Lvads/Impella's. I will have 3 months of orientation and classes throughout my time on the unit on topics surrounding critical care. Thank you all in advance!
  2. Im currently on a PCU now (in Omaha) and am also looking into switching to PICU or NICU, did you already make the switch? If so how has the transition gone for you?
  3. Hey all, so a little back story. I moved to this state from the state I had originally graduated with my BSN. I took a job on a PCU with the goal of moving into the ICU after about a year. Well, I have several reasons why I do not want to stay at the current hospital I am at - management, lack of resources, non-friendly staff and physicians. There is another hospital in the area that I had originally applied to their PCU but did not get the job. They now have an open posting for CVICU and MSICU. Would it look bad as a newer nurse with about 8 months experience to leave a hospital system for another? I've looked to transfer to the larger hospital within my system but they have not had any job postings for ICU positions. Any input on the situation would be appreciated
