From my understanding, it is 2-4 slots for VA applicants for the whole United States. As far as pay while in school, it depends on funding for that particular fiscal year you apply. It varies from year to year or different admission cycles. There should be a head contact where you check on that information. It used to be Roberta Reedy but it may be different now. You sponsored by the VA which may or may not be the VA you work for. You do not necessarily quit the VA, but of course, your obligation will be school upon admission to the program. You will work at the VA that sponsored you or wherever they have availability. Hope this helps. Good luck on your journey!

Hello everyone, I hope everyone is remaining safe and healthy during these times. I wish everyone the best of luck. This waiting has been very hard. I have just been trying to stay busy and keep my mind occupied. But still, I can't help to periodically check my email or phone to see if I have a notification. I will admit I hope they let us all know at the same time. Reading past blogs, applicants were notified a few at a time. I feel that would only increase anxiety and dampen your spirits as the number of students accepted increase and the number of seats decrease. Right now, I can truly be positive, calm, and wait.

As you mentioned, any site would be great if you are admitted. The difference is that each site has certain amount of students they will accept. Richmond being the main campus accepts the most like around 20-25 roughly. Whereas the other three sites accepts significantly less. Say for instance Roanoke only accepts like 5-6 students. If you have a working spouse or significant other, I would recommend any of the sites except Abingdon for the simple fact of job opportunities. Depending upon what your significant other skills are then they may be limited in job opportunities or have a long commute to work. Abingdon is my small city. The other sites are in bigger cities which may make it easier to find work with a small commute. Hope this helps.

@ Bryan When it comes to any CRNA program, they look at multiple things when considering applicants. I would say that you have definitely shown progress from your initial bachelor's degree to completing your BSN. That will weigh your favor. However from my experience so far in applying, the admission counselor and phase 2 site director did stress my science GPA and look to see how strong it was. I wouldn't say that you're screwed but I think I would try to retake some science courses if possible. Then again, your GPA now, experience, CCRN, and good GRE scores may outweigh the science GPA. Its really hard to say. I would not be discouraged, but just try to improve what you can and apply. As far VA applicants, in the past, the program had 4 slots available for VA applicants. Last year, applicants found out in early September but my question is that just acceptance into Baylor or acceptance for both board decision and Baylor?

I have completed my phase 2 interview a few weeks ago. It was a great experience! I am still waiting on my appointment to MEPS. How's the process going with everyone? This is last day before the Baylor application is due?

Hello everyone, I am in the process of applying for the fiscal year 2020. I am finishing up my application and waiting for my MEPS appointment. I have been practicing and studying hard for this GRE, so I am hoping to get a good score this time compared to my previous attempt. I have my CCRN, and 3.5 years of various ICU specialties. I received a wait-list too around 1300. I accepted the spot. I'll see what happens from here. I really don't know what to think. There's still hope, and I am still a great candidate to be placed on the wait list. I have a decision now, so I can stop worry about getting a phone call or email everyday.

As acceptance calls continue to made, I have started to think crazy thoughts. Did I fat finger an incorrect phone number? I am the most patient person, but it's a struggle not to have this on my mind except on weeknights and weekends because you won't be contacted during those times. Everyone keep your head up and claim your phone call is coming!

Hey everyone! First of all, congrats to those who have received acceptance calls! As far as the rest of us, I know it is difficult waiting. I don't think no one should expect the worst at this time. I know that there is only a handful of people that actually post to this site, but I feel there is enough applicants posting that there would be more acceptances of they were done. There are four different sites, and I've only seen acceptances for two sites. Don't give up hope until we receive a notification stating otherwise.

Hello everyone, I have also applied for the Spring deadline. I'm really anxious and nervous at the same time. I know this program is probably extremely competitive because it is only 24 months. Wake Forest is a great program, and it is definitely one of my top choices. I have heard nothing but great things from graduates. My GPA is a 3.96 BSN, 4.0 in some MSN courses, and I have my CCRN. My GRE is my weak point at 300. I work as charge nurse, preceptor, and recently asked to be an ACLS and PALS instructor in my community. I have 3 years of ICU experience in CVSU, SICU, and MSICU. I wish everyone the best! Let the waiting begin!
