  1. They said it’s fine! Thanks everyone...I guess they see this pretty frequently ?
  2. I am licensed in another state and am just waiting for my transfer license to be processed. They’re so backed up that they’re not able to get to my application for a few weeks. Do you think they’ll really retract it if I’m now with the union? I would think it would be harder to restart the interview process and all the on boarding/background testing/everything
  3. I accepted a job offer with a union hospital. I signed all the paper work, background check, on boarding, and everything else pre employment. I have been waiting for my license in that state for weeks and was told it’s going to be a few weeks more. My start date has been pushed back once already and is likely going to be pushed back two more times due to my license. Do you think the hospital could retract their offer? I just signed a lease on an apartment so I’m extremely worried now.
  4. Another quick question - Can I reuse recommendation letters from professors in my applications? Just because I haven't told anybody at my current place of work that I plan on leaving.
  5. That's fair. I just wasn't sure because I feel like my resume looks pretty empty without it. But if it isn't appropriate I wouldn't want my application thrown away for some dumb mistake!
  6. I have been at my first nursing job for ~7 months. I'm looking to eventually move on to an area I'm more interested in. I am trying to fix up my resume now that I have some RN experience but I was wondering if I should keep my clinical experiences on my resume?? I have experience as a CNA and RN but those are the only two experiences I have, so I thought leaving my nursing school clinicals with specialty areas on there might help me in the application process? Whether I leave now or in a year I just want to edit everything so I'm good to go when the time comes! Thanks!

Thank you all SO much for the help! I will be getting the NSO insurance then. Its only $45 for this year and the $100 a year afterward are worth it to me. The hospital told all the new grads that they would not protect us if something were to go wrong, so I just want to be safe (although I pray nothing goes wrong!). It also helps to protect in case of a patient attack (again, I hope that never happens!).
  8. I did about 4 weeks of NCLEX prep. I didn't open a single book and did at least 75 questions a day. I used kaplan so I took tests ranging from 75-265. Doing the longer tests really helps build your testing stamina (I can tell you I could barely get through 160 questions the first time so it definitely takes practice doing those long tests! I finished studying doing about 2300 questions and read all the rationales. I watched a couple of the videos provided and looked at my scores to see what areas needed improvement so I could focus there if I needed! Best of luck!

Hello! I am a new RN and wanted to get insurance just to be 1000% safe. I know a lot of people (the director of my program included) recommended NSO. I get nervous doing things online so I just wanted to make sure NSO.com is legitimate and not a fake/scam website. Is this where anyone got insurance from?
  10. You can't purchase quick results until 48 hours after your examination. Everyone gets that email around 2 hours after their exam :) And don't worry if you can't purchase exactly 48 hours later, mine didn't say I could purchase quick results until 9am so it was technically an hour late lol. While you're waiting you can keep checking your BON website to see if your license has been made active as sometimes that occurs faster than the quick results!
  11. Before taking an exam for licensing in another state also be sure to look up what licensing requirements are in each state. For example, NY requires your nursing education in addition to a child abuse identification and infection control class. You can find these classes on the NY licensing website and can go to in person or online classes but they are paid by the individual.
  12. Absolutely! Nobody told me I could do that until I found out myself. It's better to just do things yourself because nobody will work as hard for you! Definitely follow up--and once they know your name things tend to move faster :) Also make sure to pick the earliest day you want but if there aren't any available dates take what you can get! Make sure to click "reschedule" and you can frequently check if any dates open without committing to changing. There's a cancel button on the bottom left and just click that if none of the dates available work for you. I changed my date 3 times and just kept moving it closer until I got the date I wanted!
  13. I completed all the QT (1-3 are non-passing, so don't go off of these scores). QT 4 - 65 QT 5 - 66 QT 6 - 68 QT 7 - 66 Readiness test - 70 I also completed 17 75 question QBanks. My scores averaged mid to high 60s, and low 70s. I recommend making an Excel spreadsheet and after each exam putting the scores you got for each individual section. I marked anything under a 60 as red, 60s as yellow, and 70 or higher as green. This helped me identify any particular areas that I wasn't as strong in and I did a quick 15 or so tutor style practice questions in that area. I would also say that the NCLEX style is much closer to the readniess test style. It was less wordy, more straight forward and not trying to trick you as much. I thought that kaplan prepared me excellently and the questions were much harder than the actual NCLEX. If you're doing well on kaplan, you'll sit for nclex and find it's significantly easier :)
  14. Contact your school and see if there is an alternate way to send your transcript by yourself via email. I did this and there is a third party my school used to send official transcripts. I put in the BON's email after calling for an update on my ATT. After having it emailed, I followed up once it said it was delivered to make sure they received it. Once they had, I had my ATT the next day. Stay on top of it and definitely take it into your own hands! Something must have happened with my school trying to send transcripts. They either got lost in the mail or something but within 1 day of emailing it, I was all set to register!
  15. Passed in 75 as well! Used kaplan exclusively and would do it again without a thought. The rationales weren't always the best but it gave difficult questions that made nclex feel super easy. The rationales for the QBanks were pretty detailed in my opinion and included videos and content. If I had to redo all my studying I would use Kaplan again exclusively. I personally don't think purchasing a bunch of products would be very helpful and would be a lot of money for ultimately the same outcome. If you read the rationales (especially on QBank questions) you get enough content review in my opinion. If there's any topic you're not confident on, there are usually videos that can quickly review the topic, or you can quickly refresh yourself by reading up on it if necessary.
  16. Officially passed! Definitely take the day before off to relax and don't overthink the questions. I used kaplan and their questions were definitely more difficult. Once I was reading the actual nclex questions it was straight forward and not as confusing. Kaplan was great to study and I would use it again in a heartbeat.
  17. I passed!! Whew those were a long 48 hours of me second guessing myself!! I do have to say that the exam was much easier than I expected and I was nervous that I found some questions easy. I was looking for bolded key words throughout to see if I was above the passing line. "Most" "important" "immediately" "first" stuff like that every once in a while to help reassure myself
  18. Regarding the research questions--15 questions are randomly incorporated within the first 75 questions. Meaning you could get 5 live questions, followed by a research, followed by more live questions etc. Question 75 might even be a research one but you won't be able to tell which is which (to preserve the research). Therefore, after 75 questions you will have completed all 15 research questions. All questions after that are live questions that will count toward the final score. Hope this helps!
  19. My test shut off at 75 but I cannot stop thinking about whether or not something went wrong. My second to last question was priority and my last was SATA. I honestly think I blacked out of most of the exam but I remember there being a good number of priority but I only clearly remember one delegation question. Is that bad? Did I completely mess up or would I not have been getting priority questions if I wasn't above the passing line? This waiting is killing me! I'm too scared to do the PVT in case it's wrong!
  20. Took mine on July 2 as well! It shut off in 75 and I'm beyond nervous. My second to last question was a priority one and my final question was SATA. Would you say thats a fairly good sign?? I had a pretty good number of priority and tons of SATA but only one or two delegation (that I can remember--I honestly think I blacked out most of the exam lol). Will we get results tomorrow if it's a holiday?
  21. My school took a while as well! I called the BON and asked if there was an address I could send it to myself. They gave me a physical address and an email address. I would recommend email as it arrives significantly faster and there isn't a chance of it getting "lost"! Call your school and see if there is a way for YOU to send it through whatever they send it through. My school uses some third party company that you request transcripts for email. I did that, had it send, and was able to track it being sent. Once I saw it was sent, I called the BON to confirm it was received. After that I had my ATT within a day!
  22. Keep your fingers crossed for me!! haha these are going to be a rough 48 hours!
  23. I used kaplan not Uworld but honestly I think if you're doing pretty consistent on the practice exams they're pretty similar. I found it was fairly straight forward and not as confusing as some practices which made me feel a lot better while taking it
  24. Best of luck!! Took mine this morning and now just waiting for results! I found it very straightforward. If you can do the practice tests and know your content/strategies I'm sure you'll be fine :)
  25. So I took my exam this morning at 8am and it shut off after 75 questions! I'm seriously hoping I passed because the second to last question was a priority question! I'm too scared to try the PVT because I don't want anything showing up wrong (or being charged another $200 by accident lol). My quick results should be available July 4 but since that's a holiday will I be able to see them? Do I need to wait until the 5th??
