How to strengthen my application to CRNA school? - Please Help
(TL;Dr) low GPAc, >5 years experience with leadership. What to prioritize to strengthen my application for 2027 cycle? GRE, shadowing, more certs, taking courses? Also may take cardiac device job after work hiatus? Hi guys!! Having a difficult time choosing what to focus on to strengthen my application for the 2027 cycle. Considering taking the GRE, shadowing a ton next year, possibly knocking out CSC or TCRN, taking additional undergraduate/grad courses like stats and chem?? Not sure what to prioritize honestly. Also, full disclosure my last ICU job was Sep 2024. I've been staying at home with my baby. My husband is active duty mil and has decent odds of getting medically separated... so I'm in sorts preparing to finally fulfill my dream. In a similar vein, I got offered a per diem device rep job (not sales... education/consulting) for a ventricular device which means lots of OR + ICU time. I know it's not bedside, but the hours are more flexible than PRN bedside gig and the pay can actually help with childcare. Considering that the nanny's here ask for the same hourly rate as base RN pay...... LOL. Please help.. any tips, recommendations, comments are all appreciated. Not sure if I even have a shot quite frankly. I just want to convey that I know my *** and please just give me a chance. Do I have a chance at CRNA schools? 25$ gift card to best answer
GPA is a solid start! I would definitely suggest getting your CCRN to establish yourself as a certified nurse. I’d also try to snag some resume builders in leadership or education. Maybe joining your unit council, becoming an ACLS/PALS instructor, getting involved with your new grad residency…. something like that. Also, I highly suggest networking your way into a particular program. If you have any connections on the educational side of the school you’re applying to, try to reach out and schedule a meeting with them or ask them to talk with you about the program. It’s good to have an insider that knows your name. That was the golden ticket for a lot of my friends who got accepted. Hope this helps!

US Navy Nurse Corps Info??
Hi everyone! I'm seeking information on joining the Navy Nurse corps as an active duty officer. I know there are a lot of threads out there on this topic, but I'd like to pitch my circumstance for some extra feedback. I'm in a nursing program through my community college while con-currently enrolled at a university... so i'm currently taking BSN courses to finish ahead. I will hopefully graduate with my ADN from the community college May 2019, and have my BSN completed May 2020. So I will be able to start working as a RN spring '19 after I pass NCLEX, all the while completing my BSN. I've heard that in order to commission in the Navy as an officer, you need one year of nursing experience. I'll have this one year under my belt at the time I graduate with my BSN, so it all sort of works out. My interests are ED/trauma so I'm shooting for a residency in that department once I get my license. Eventually, I want to be trained as a flight nurse for the Navy. Coming from a military family, and without anything/anyone tying me down here in Virginia, I want to be deployed and have experienced combat zones first hand. Would ED/trauma be fitting or at all preparatory for flight nursing? What are the chances I'd be given this opportunity in the Navy? How do you choose your specialty as a Navy nurse, or do they choose for you based on your experience? I'm already in contact with an officer recruiter, as I initially tried to go through NCP but all fell through because I was enrolled in two different schools. When should I start working with my recruiter to begin applying for commission? Thanks in advance!!
