    How should I move forward?

I have been a rehab nurse for three years. I recently had an interview for L/D job. Ob is my dream specialty. I would really love the opportunity. During the interview I was notified that the unit covers there own call ins, so you are expected to be on call every week. This would be difficult for me because I am helping to raise my nephew and he is with me on my days off from work. After further research I find that I would rather work in postpartum or nursery. Any one work on call as PP or Nursery Nurse? Nurse manager told me I could call or email her with any questions. I don’t want to burn any bridges, but I also want to do what is best for me and my family. Should I speak with manager regarding concerns? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

I want to leave bedside nursing

Hi, I have been a nurse for 3 years in inpatient rehab. I am experiencing extreme burn out. It is an extremely physically demanding job. I am looking to step away from bedside nursing and try something different. I have been considering the ED, urgent care, non bedside etc.. I am seeking some advice. If anyone here who work in the ED, urgent care or other non bedside nursing positions can share your experience or any positive words of encouragement. Your help would be greatly appreciated.

    Seeking advice

Hi, I have been a nurse for about three years. I currently work inpatient rehab. I am feeling extremely burned out and I am in desperate need of change. I'm looking to transfer to another unit within my hospital as well exploring opportunities outside of the hospital. Seeking advice about other nursing specialties and recommendations.

    Seeking advice

Hi, I have been a nurse for two years now. I started on an inpatient rehab unit as a new grad, where I am still currently working. I work on night shift and I am looking to make a transition to day shift due to trouble adapting to nights. I have been looking into transfer options at the hospital where I work, mainly to gain more experience. I am in a dilemma and I'm not sure what do, so I am seeking some advice. My nurse manager for the rehab floor, offered me a position on days. I also, put in a transfer application for a med-surg/oncology floor for days as well. I have been offered an interview. for the med-surg floor. I am familiar with rehab care, but my unit is not very skilled based. Ratios are 1:6. Patients are usually in therapy for about three hours a day. The med-surg floor is 1:5 on days, extremely busy, but would give me more nursing experience. I don't dislike my current job. I have heard horror stories about med-surg and that does make me a little nervous. Plus if I transfer and I dislike it, I would be stuck there for one year. Future goals as RN is to eventually leave bedside nursing and pursue other options. Please feel free to give advice. Thanks
