  1. Congrats @akawata! See you at orientation!
  2. Keep in mind that the UHM bridge program is online, so you might be to do the entire thing remotely!
  3. Oh - there's just one caveat: we have to be sure to apply for the UHM BSN program by the deadline of 1/5/2020 and maintain a 3.0 GPA. Not bad!
  4. Hey, I have some great news! I just spoke with Wes today, and looks like there won't be much time between the ADN and BSN program after all. After we graduate in May 2020, we'd use the summer to take the NCLEX and an ADN to BSN bridge course, then start the one-year BSN program through UHM right away in August 2020. Essentially, both programs (ADN at KCC/bridge to BSN at UH and direct BSN through UH) would take 3 years or 6 semesters from start to finish. Since I'd end up with a BSN by May 2021 through either program, I'm pretty sure I'm going to go with KCC in order to save a whole lot of money.
  5. You got it!
  6. @Riveeezpoo, you're right, we can complete the BSN program in one year. My understanding is that there may be a few months in between programs for the application/transfer process, which makes the process a little bit longer. I'm not 100% sure, however. I'm going to pop by the nursing advisor office next Tuesday, so I'll get back to you with more details!
  7. @mlara, I totally understand wanting to get your BSN right away! Yes, KCC ADN grads can do a direct transfer to get their BSN at UH. I believe you can transfer 2x/year, and there's about a semester of waiting in between. I think I might go with KCC, since I'd get the same degree in the end just to save about $20K! Tough choice, though.
  8. Congrats to you! I got an acceptance letter for UHM on Wednesday too. Just curious, did anyone also apply at KCC's ADN? I got into both programs and am trying to decide which one to go with.
  9. Good luck! I'm sure it will arrive today. Orientation is 6/1/18 from 9-3.
  10. Thanks for that advice! I do love KCC and feel at home there, and you can't beat the cost. My first instinct is to attend the ADN program there and then bridge to the BSN at UHM, but want to be sure I'm making the right decision. I actually just made a separate community post about this to get as much advice as I can.
  11. Hi everyone! I feel like I've just won the lottery, but have been accepted to both the BSN program at UH Manoa and the ADN program at KCC for Fall 2018. Does anyone have any advice on which route to choose? As I see it, the major advantage of going to KCC would be saving money, and the advantage of going directly to UHM would be getting my BSN a bit faster. If I go with KCC, I'll get my RN license after two years and then transfer to UHM for my third year to get my BSN (with a few months in between programs). Just wondering - am I missing anything else? Does one program have any other advantages over the other, such as better clinical experiences, instruction, networking for future job prospects, etc? If anyone has an experience with either program (good or bad) to share, or any other info, I'd really appreciate it. Thank you so much!
  12. Riveeezpoo congrats! Same here. I also got accepted to the BSN program at UH Manoa, so now I have to decide which one to go with.
  13. Has anyone heard anything from KCC yet? The anticipation is killing me!
  14. Thanks, @riveeezpoo! I spoke with Wes when I handed in my application, and he said late March/early April.
  15. Hey guys, good luck to everyone! We should be hearing back any day now. My stats: Pre-req's: 4.0 Co-req's: 4.0 TEAS: 90.7% CNA certificate, no work experience yet
