KCC ADN Fall 2018
Hey, I have some great news! I just spoke with Wes today, and looks like there won't be much time between the ADN and BSN program after all. After we graduate in May 2020, we'd use the summer to take the NCLEX and an ADN to BSN bridge course, then start the one-year BSN program through UHM right away in August 2020. Essentially, both programs (ADN at KCC/bridge to BSN at UH and direct BSN through UH) would take 3 years or 6 semesters from start to finish. Since I'd end up with a BSN by May 2021 through either program, I'm pretty sure I'm going to go with KCC in order to save a whole lot of money.

@Riveeezpoo, you're right, we can complete the BSN program in one year. My understanding is that there may be a few months in between programs for the application/transfer process, which makes the process a little bit longer. I'm not 100% sure, however. I'm going to pop by the nursing advisor office next Tuesday, so I'll get back to you with more details!

UH Manoa BSN Fall 2018
@mlara, I totally understand wanting to get your BSN right away! Yes, KCC ADN grads can do a direct transfer to get their BSN at UH. I believe you can transfer 2x/year, and there's about a semester of waiting in between. I think I might go with KCC, since I'd get the same degree in the end just to save about $20K! Tough choice, though.

UH Manoa BSN Fall 2018
Congrats to you! I got an acceptance letter for UHM on Wednesday too. Just curious, did anyone also apply at KCC's ADN? I got into both programs and am trying to decide which one to go with.

Thanks for that advice! I do love KCC and feel at home there, and you can't beat the cost. My first instinct is to attend the ADN program there and then bridge to the BSN at UHM, but want to be sure I'm making the right decision. I actually just made a separate community post about this to get as much advice as I can.

UH Manoa vs KCC: pros/cons?
Hi everyone! I feel like I've just won the lottery, but have been accepted to both the BSN program at UH Manoa and the ADN program at KCC for Fall 2018. Does anyone have any advice on which route to choose? As I see it, the major advantage of going to KCC would be saving money, and the advantage of going directly to UHM would be getting my BSN a bit faster. If I go with KCC, I'll get my RN license after two years and then transfer to UHM for my third year to get my BSN (with a few months in between programs). Just wondering - am I missing anything else? Does one program have any other advantages over the other, such as better clinical experiences, instruction, networking for future job prospects, etc? If anyone has an experience with either program (good or bad) to share, or any other info, I'd really appreciate it. Thank you so much!
