Do the MSN program! I really don't think you would be happy in the LVN program or profession due to your previous education. If you do the LVN program, you will be light years ahead of your classmates who many will have never taken medical courses before. Also, while LVN school may be cheaper, LVNs are paid SIGNIFICANTLY less than RNs and MSNs.

I'm applying to the accelerated RN program at Midwestern State University, and I feel you on the nerve racking wait. The school said they would notify everyone on acceptance by March 15th. However, I'm going nuts because two people on all nurses have said they were accepted. One person said they were emailed an acceptance on Friday and another said she was emailed hers a week ago! MacBook Pro ALL THE WAY! They make them SO light now that there isn't much of a weight difference. Also, they both have the same hard drive. Honestly, you probably couldn't even tell the difference in weight if you held a Pro in one hand and an Air in the other. I just checked Apple and the 13 inch Air weighs 2.96lbs and the 13 inch Pro weighs 3.02lbs. However, the 13 inch Air comes with a 1.8GHz i5 processor, and the Pro comes with a 2.3GHz 7th generation processor. So for weighing only 0.06lbs more the Pro will run much faster and have a lot more storage.

I took online classes at Midwestern State University, and I really enjoyed it. The school is super affordable, and the classes were super easy.

1. Start making your notecards now! And start studying them now. I would contact the professor you will have for A&P 2 and ask them for last years syllabus or the chapters you will cover so you can start prepping. Even if the professor can't give you a syllabus, they can tell you which chapters to study. I would also check notecard apps/sites like Quizlet, MentalCase, and Chegg. They not only let you make and save notecards, but you can download other people's notecards. For a class like A&P, that tons of students across the nation take, it's a huge time saver to use notecards already made by someone else who took the class. 2. When class starts, organize a study group you can count on. Each person can be assigned to make notecards on a chapter and then share the notecards through an app like MentalCase, Chegg, or Quizlet.

My situation is similar to yours. I have my bachelors in healthcare administration, but I'm applying to get my RN. My gpa is embarrassing. I have a 2.77 overall. The school I've applied to has an accelerated RN program. They look at the gpa from core classes (state required) and prerequisite courses. For my core classes I have a 3.0, but for the prerequisite I have a 2.78. If I were you, I would first make sure it's what you really want to do. Ask a friend if you can shadow them or contact nearby schools to see if they can help. Next, meet with someone at the schools you're looking at to discuss your grades, and likelihood of acceptance. They can tell you if you should retake some classes and if so, which ones to retake. Good luck! And don't get discouraged by the gpa's people post online! I've seen a lot of people get denied the first time they applied and accepted the next time even though they didn't retake classes and because they remained focused on nursing. I know a ton more people who got waitlisted and got into the program. I even know one girl who was told she wasn't accepted and then 3 days after classes started she got asked if she still wanted in the program! Most people apply to multiple schools, but they can only say yes to one.

Does anyone happen to know how many they accept into the accelerated program or how many apply?

IF I get accepted, I want to purchase my books ASAP and start studying and making note cards! Lol I'm nervous AF now that I know two people have gotten acceptance letters and I haven't. Do you mind telling me what email your acceptance letter came from? I went ahead and checked my spam folder and I keep checking it and my inbox every 5 minutes! Lol But, I'd feel better if I could add the email to my address book.

They still use it for BSN, but online it says an additional point is added for having a bachelors degree.
