  1. Hello All, Got my first offer as an NP in Michigan. It is 100k base pay, with potential to move to 105 k after a year. Also 4 weeks PTO, and health benefits for employee and family. Retirement is available but I do not know the details yet, and CMEs paid for. Any opinions from seasoned NPs on this? Thanks a lot!!
  2. I am thinking about teaching in the future once I graduate as an FNP and gain some experience. I was wondering if anyone knew of someone or knows in general, if it there are many opportunities for part time teaching jobs and if those jobs are flexible enough to allow for another primary job at a clinic/hospital? I want to pay off my student loans quickly ? I also think I would enjoy teaching once I have experience.
  3. Congratulations!! @Misstoffee !! ?
  4. Did anyone get the acceptance letter in the mail yet too? I got my acceptance email but not the letter. I just wanted to check. Hope everyone is staying safe!
  5. Hi @Misstoffee What program did you apply to? I do remember reading on this post somewhere that certain programs may take longer. I was told that answers would be given mid to late March for the early deadline, and I received mine mid March. Good luck to you!!
  6. I was accepted to the Family Nurse Practitioner Master of Science Program! I am so excited! Congratulations to everyone who got in! and to those on the waiting list much luck to you!
  7. Hoping we get an answer next week ?
  8. Hi @mcjobson Do you happen to know acceptance stats for the MSN-FNP program? Thank you ?
  9. Hi @mcjobson, Thank you for all the great advice! I actually received the invitation for the Kira interview the day after I submitted the application, so I do wonder if it was automated to send out the invitation or not. I really hope it is a good sign they only asked for Kira interview.
  10. Hi @mcjobson thank you for letting us know! If you don't mind answering, do you find it possible to work during the program? If so full-time or just part- time? Also I know U of M finds clinical placement, how has that process been? Thank you ! ?
  11. Hi @sarahb33, I was told that as well. I have not heard anything back since I completed the kira interview online. Best of luck to you!! Lets keep each other posted.
  12. Hi BW2020, I applied for the early January 15th deadline for the MSN FNP program at U of M! Still have not heard anything back. Thanks for starting the thread and much luck to you!
  13. Congratulations mountains&stethoscopes on your acceptance and choosing of a program! I just graduated and want to apply to schools in Michigan after I get my year of experience hopefully in ICU. Do you mind me asking what GPA range your school usually accepts applicants? I know their website says 3.0 but its usually different when you talk to the advisors at the schools. Thank you
  14. Hi, Thank you for your reply! I would be happy going to a reputable school, it does not have to be the highest ranking but somewhere that is still respected and somewhere that is not for-profit like I am at now. I feel like they are quick to fail us to make more money on class repeats. So do you really think I would still have a chance? I have two skills left I have to perform without fails, however, thinking this professor is out to fail me for anything. So depressed right now
  15. Hello All, I am currently in a BSN program and have a 3.9 GPA, however in my fundamentals class I am one skill fail away from failing the entire course. This is all so shocking to me because I am a very hard working student who gets good grades, however I automatically failed a skill for not bringing a bag to class that was not even needed that day. I still have a chance to pass but just in case I don't pass, I would like to know if I fail this class and have an F on my transcript will it hurt my chances of getting accepted to NP school? If I fail the course my GPA will drop to a 3.5, and then will go up slightly once I retake the class and get a better grade (hopefully an A), but I am worried that NP programs will see the F I got the first time and turn me away. Can anyone who has seen anyone in a similar situation let me know what they think would happen?
  16. Hi I just wanted to see how you were liking the program so far? I am thinking of applying, do you mind sharing what your GPA was? I am worried if i have a 3.4 I might not get accepted. Thank You
  17. No I have not even graduated yet. I'm just worried California board will give me a hard time getting a license there if I am bringing a degree from an out of state school.
  18. Hi Regina_phalange let me correct my post they do 100 % accept Chamberlain degrees from the Sacramento location however I will be attending the Troy, Michigan location and when I called the CA board they could only give me a for sure answer on the Sacramento but not Troy. The board said sometimes out of state nursing schools leave out 1-2 classes that California schools require. The rep from the CA board told me if the Troy Chamberlain's location matches the cirriculum of Sacramento's then I should be fine. After comparing the two curriculums it turns out Sacramento's is 126 units while Troy's is 122. The classes are all the same but 3 of the classes at Sacramento are worth more units. I'm just worried that if I move they will not accept my degree. Do you know any more info on this ?
  19. Does anyone know the answer to this question? It would help me immensely.
  20. Hello, I am wondering if anyone would know if the California Board of Nursing will accept a BSN degree from a Chamberlain outside of California. I called the Board today and they said they do accept Chamberlain degrees from California for sure but she could not give me a 100% answer for another Chamberlain. She told me if the curriculum is the same it should be fine. The classes are all the same, however 3 classes are worth more credits in California so Chamberlain's BSN degree in California is 126 credits while all other Chamberlains are 122 credits. The reason I need to know is because one day I plan on moving back to California as that is where I am from. Thank You for any help you can give me!
