Assaulted at work
If you have already found another job in a different area, you don't even need to discuss not being eligible for re-hire by that company. I wouldn't even worry about it (you've had enough stress) just focus on the new job and moving forward. Is there a rule I don't know about that says you have to state this not eligible for re-hire in a job interview? I've never seen this on an application. When you apply for a job in the future, I wouldn't feel the need to even mention it. If they ask why you left, you were assaulted and didn't feel comfortable returning to that work environment. If they talk to HR, HR will most likely just give them dates of employment. I understand your distress over the notice though. Can you ask for a meeting with HR? I would think you could explain that you thought you were following the giving notice protocol and didn't realize (nor did your supervisor) that it had to follow the exact day you fully returned to work It seems someone would be willing to understand. Maybe at the least they would agree to keep the no re-hire within the organization.

Fired from my first RN job after only 2 weeks.
Your views certainly seem to have changed from last November when you were concerned about a 6 week orientation being enough for an experienced nurse in a new specialty. Did you end up taking this job? Thank you so much for calling out those that are so superior to others and must let us all know how wonderful they are. Wanderlust, maybe you shouldn't be so quick to judge. I hope you are never offered a preceptor position because most new grads would just never return to work after having to work a shift with you. I've had the misfortune to work with such managers the "do as I say, not as do type." They never have any management skills or ability to teach, and if those under them don't quit, they usually go outta their way to sabotage the leader.

Raising minimum wage ..RN Salaries increase?
Mini2544 Sounds like you are just fine with the massive inequality and division that continues to grow. It's ok for the 1% to continue to get richer while the poorer get poorer and the middle class disappears? This is really working out right now.

PLEASE, can someone help? Looking for first Hospital job
Rapid City Regional Rapid City, SD really needed nurses a month ago. I haven't checked in the last few weeks. Holy Rosary in Miles City, MT also needs nurses and has a nice package for new grads.

Am I ruining my chances?
I graduated 4 months ago and took a seasonal job to save up to move for a nursing position I hoped I would get in another state. I didn't apply locally because I can't stand the area and didn't want to take a nursing job here and then just leave after orientation. I did get some great offers out of state and just this week, as I was about to accept an overnight Med-Surg position, the most important person in my life got some bad health news and I just know I cannot leave right now (I would never forgive myself, nor could I leave this person without anyone). There will be someone in my place in a couple months for this person. I'm wondering if 2 months will make a difference in getting hired for a new-grad position since I would be 6 or 7 months out of school instead of 4, with no experience. I'm not concerned about getting into a new grad residency program, I really just want to be able to get an overnight Med-Surg position at a hospital? What do you think? Am I ruining my chances?

Crohn's Disease P/t
Thanks for shedding light on the other side of this situation. As someone who has suffered with colitis all of my life and been told it's no big deal because it's not Crohn's I desperately needed a GI doctor who understood. I feel for this patient because I know what it's like to have MD's telling you it's all in your head, you're not in that much pain and you're just a drug seeker. I commend this nurse for advocating for this patient and if it were me, I'd be getting that patient a GI consult or another gastroenterologist that's not going to judge before taking all things into consideration.

new grad having extreme difficulty
If you aren't opposed to moving there are places that need nurses more than others and will offer new grads relocation money and bonuses for staying. I had my sites set on places that have tons of nurses and everyone wants to live like NYC, Fl and California. Looking for a job in places like these is very discouraging because they don't really need you. I got a great offer from a very rural hospital without a lot of effort and I have my associates, not a BSN. If you aren't opposed to moving if there is relocation offered, expand your search.

Don't Risk Your Job Over Social Media
I never friend co-workers or anyone associated with my workplace, post locations or associate my posts with where I am employed. I do, however, have a profile that is me, that is blocked to anyone I am not friends with. I feel like I have a right to post things relevant to me life, within reason, without being vulgar, cursing etc. without being afraid that my passion about the evil of things like fossil fuels and plastic killing sea life could be viewed as too opinionated. If an employer or someone outside of my circle of friends feels the need to stalk my profile and find ways around the security parameters I've set, that should be some sort of cyber invasion of privacy violation.
