  1. Thanks, are there any agency's that you recommend?
  2. Thank you for the advice on what to study. That's what I was thinking like some common drugs and dosage maybe scenarios.
  3. Hi so in NYC we have job assistance which 1199 provides I do not have any job offer yet. I have to take a test first and then they give employment help. They help cna and other healthcare workers the same way.
  4. Hmm that is strange but probably right. I don't have any info as to who the employer is until I pass. So I guess review pharm math and scenarios ?
  5. Yes they require a test first before job placement
  6. Checking in, looks like no one has taken it before
  7. Hi, So I will be meeting with 1199 for possible jobs but before that I have to take a test. I'm thinking its probably pharm with some math, but i'm not too sure. I was just told there would be a test. I was hoping if anyone on here would know what is usually on the exam and what I should focus my studying on?
  8. Thanks everyone I think I'm going to apply for the NJ license. It is close enough to travel from home and back.
  9. Hi I just got a letter for an interview from 1199 and was wondering if you could give me any tips
  10. Where is the Mayo Clinic?
  11. I actually did this today!! but most of the nurse managers are out of office due to vacation or other reasons. But I did manage to hand in my resume to about 3 units. I want to do so for other hospitals as well but not sure how to get past the security. The nurses were not annoyed on the units like I've heard from other people they actually encouraged me to go to all the floors. I'm just stuck on how to go past the security for other hospitals.
  12. Thanks everyone. So I actually got an interview for Long Island hospitals :). I hope it works out. It's far from where I live but it is manageable. I also didn't realize the thing about summer possibly being slower because most people do take a vacation. Most of my class mates got the job offer around June to start in July or started working in march and had their offers by February. I feel I just had bad timing and missed the cut offs. I gave a call to my loan people and got an extension for 3 months. I'm going to give working in New York another month and if not I'll look into upstate ny or more places in Long Island. I'd love to move to CA but I guess for the time being I need to work on applying to more places.
  13. I would prefer hospital but yes I have applied to Chem dependency clinics and long term care facilities.
  14. I was originally hoping for a speciality of my choice but I really have no preference at this point. I apply to all positions. As for relocating I'm sorry but I don't see how one can move to a new place with out having money. You would need money for rent and food and that's just for basic needs. How do you move and relocate with out a job or income?
  15. Thanks, it helps to hear that this is not such an abnormal occurrence. I am applying everyday, all I can do now is hope I suppose.
