EKG training and ACLS
Hi Everyone, I am a new grad RN, just passed the boards. My husband is an ICU RN and the 6week orientation included ACLS AND CCRN course. I hope the hospital I plan on working ICU at will do the same for me, ya'all got me wondering. My husband works at Kaiser(awsome), I on the other hand am trying to stay close to home 10 mins away, for emergency's we have a 4 and 5 year old. Anyway, buy yourself a ACLS book and take the darn class yourself, to heck with the hospital, this is YOUR butt on the line! Boy, I sure know what i'll be asking in the next interview, THANK YOU for the heads up. Here is an awsome websit I found while craming for the boards, www.skillstat.com/flash/ecgsim531.html I know it helped me alot to read and understand ekg's and I know I'll be working with it alot more now! Take care, April :)

Hi Tooty, My husband is an ICU RN, I used his mosby pdq for critical care to help study for my boards, he says it's a great lil book for the floors too. I just passed the boards and will also be going to ICU. I KNOW I will be using this lil book as a quick reference. Hope it helps you too. :) Take care, April

I passed! and hope for california nclex results
Hi and THANK YOU EVERYONE!, yOUR welcome WG, found that infection control site to be very helpful on the NCLEX. Smile123, I don't know how the boards get their results here in calif. All I know is took it on sat, and my name was on website tue! I only did the cd for saunders, one content area at a time. Also I HIGHLY reccomend the mosby prioritization and delegation book, do this book whwn your done with saunders cd, it seems to pull everything together. Also the Mosby pdq, pocket size, for ICU sooooooooo much of that little book packs a powerful punch when it comes to the NCLEX! I only wish I had discovered it sooner and took it everywhere I went for little study breaks here and there :) Take care and good luck, April

I passed! and hope for california nclex results
Hi everyone! I passed at 75 questions! I took the nclex on Sat. june 24 and my RN # was posted on the CALIF BON SITE on tuesday june 27! I of course looked at the site a few times on monday KNOWING the results were not going to be there, but I just couldn't help myself. Then I looked again tue. morn, knowing yet again the results still wouldn't be there... but, lo and behold.... there they were, my name number and type RN RN RN. I was so shocked! I never call my husband at work,( he works ICU RN at kaiser) but I called his cell over and over again till I got a call back! I used saunders cd, mosby prioritization and delagation book and mosby pdq for critical care, it's quick facts that ARE on the nclex. I wish everyone the best of luck. This is an awsome feeling! I'm looking forward to starting my new grad ICU program. (i think) lol. Take care, this test is sooooooo doable! April RN (WOW) first time writting that, so awsome.

NCLEX Clueless
Kitty, If you want to work as an RN in California, and be near your brother, you should come here. Call the Calif. B.O.N. and see what you gotta do. The difference here in Ca. is the wait after you take your NCLEX is up to 4wks to get your results. Compared to some states where you can get your results in 2 days. Call Ca B.O.N. at 916-322-3350. Good luck, April

Soooo Many Meds Soooo Little Time!!!
Any advice as to how to get a quick grip on NCLEX meds? Geese, no wonder the NCLEX has over 10k questions in their data base, seems all the questions could be on meds alone! I am taking the NCLEX here in Calif. this sat. And I'm feeling dazed and confused, as to how to study for NCLEX meds. I have Saunders and there are 700 questions on meds. Now I'm no dummy but... I don't have a photographic memory either! I would be ever so greatful for ANY advice. Thank You.
