  1. I’m looking for my own to err on the side of caution
  2. Pretty sure ASU only had the WHNP route. I know NAU, UofA, Grand Canyon and PHX College do not have a WHNP program. I know UNIV of Utah, Vanderbilt, Univ of Nebraska, Duke, Rutgers, Frontier, UAB, Univ of Cincinnati, U of I Chicago, U of Minnesota, Frontier, UC Denver, Georgetown has WHNP.
  3. Good luck! It’s totally worth it!!
  4. Wow, that’s really surprising. I know they are really focused on dementia care, but wouldn’t think they’d eliminate a program. I would look into other online programs then for sure
  5. Really? They’re dropping the WHNP program entirely?
  6. Arizona State has a hybrid WHNP Program
  7. My essays were all to be uploaded individually. For example, there was a particular link or whatever to upload essay number 3 and there was a different one for essay 2. I didn’t need to specify which essay was which. I applied to BSN-DNP vs a post masters. I have read that it is like a test to see if you can follow directions. I had my font at 11, but was able to squeeze in 12. None of mine exceeded a page. Good Luck!
  8. I’m MSN-DNP but I think it’s the same? I’m from AZ and I will be there.
  9. Found out on the 9th that I’m in! Looking forward to meeting everyone! Is there a FB page or anything started?
  10. Interviewed for WHNP 2wks ago this Wednesday. This wait is not fun....
  11. Congrats to everyone! Just submitted everything for the 9/1 deadline this morning but it still says incomplete? I was going to apply for Fall 2020, but was informed I could still apply for Spring 2020. It says they don’t need official transcripts until you’re admitted, so that’s all that is missing on my end.
  12. It’s hard to find an entry level RN job. Timing has to be really good. I joined the ASRM and took their nurse certificate course though.
  13. Where are you located?
  14. It’s my dream to become a Nurse Practitioner, specializing in infertility. I applied to an institution (my alma mater and also a school that hangs their hat on innovation) with a pretty solid application package. I was not even granted an interview and the school would not provide me with any insight of what I can do to become a more competitive applicant. I met all application requirements. I emailed Admissions and the individual(s) that sent out my rejection letter as well as my follow up rejection letter. They could and would not provide me with any information. I joined ASRM and have taken the Basic Infertility Course, and the 9 other single subject courses as well. I’m currently in the second module of the Nurse Certificate course. I can only work part time or per diem as I have small children and a spouse that is out of state for work 4-5days a week. PT and PRN employment is nearly impossible to find. I would work for free at this point! Currently I am working Per Diem as a PACU nurse. I am am more than happy for any advice or guidance. I plan on reapplying as well to a few more programs as well. Thanks in advance!

  17. All good points! Wow..I would probably have a hard time not responding to that! Best of luck to you at U of A. You’ll do great!
  18. I submitted the day it opened. My last letter of rec went in on 9/17/18. I was very disappointed that they waited so long to send rejections vs sending those out much earlier. I have two other programs in mind and will apply to those. I think my goals, plan and population of interest don’t align with their agenda. I see on social media pretty regularly that they are focusing on rural areas and the ‘underserved’ population. I want to specialize in reproductive endocrinology/infertility services and had a solid application package in addition to being alumni and meeting admission requirements. I wasnt’given any explanation other than I ‘wasn’t competitive,’ when I inquired for an explanation. Also disappointing.
  19. Found out today, via email that I was not admitted. It said it was a competitive pool. I asked 1. How many applied 2. How many were accepted and 3. What I can do to improve. The response Really didn’t answer any of my questions. I’m pretty bummed.
  20. Update: Still haven’t heard anything. Have reached out for info on a few other programs. Some allow you to get a MSN, sit for boards and then you’re directly admitted to their DNP program.
  21. Thanks! Best of luck to you!
  22. So sorry about ASU, but I’m so glad you Had U of A In your pocket! Was it it an email or a actual letter? i have not heard anything. Starting to look into other programs.
