  1. No suspension....non disciplinary/non regulatory if you self report.
  2. Dont waste your money on a lawyer. MI BON doesnt care. Since you already reported yourself and HPRP knows you will have to do it and lawyers wont help change the whole program.
  3. Yo, Im sure by now you went through the process. I am new to HPRP and have been in it for about 3 or 4 months now. From what Ive seen everyone gets 3 years unless your just mental health then it is 2 years. Everyone has to go to 3 meetings a week plus a group therapy session weekly, so thats 4 things in one week. Everyone has a quarterly addictionist appointment and a monthly therapist appointment. Not everyone gets a narc restriction but being that you took it from a pt they will give you a narc restriction which you can get rid of after 6 months of working. They are flexible with your hours you just have to ask for your contract to be changed. Mental health places gave me a hard time and didnt want to hire HPRP. Your best bet is to work where you were if you can somehow do that without passing meds or get a job in dialysis for a while. Someone I know was at a party and got a DUI. They dont have a drinking problem and never admitted to having a drinking problem. The DUI had nothing to do with work and they got everything I mentioned above. Everyone gets the same thing.
  4. Thanks for the replies everyone. Just to repsond... Whether I am an addict or not and if I did it or not is not something I want to post about yet. I am in the beginning stages of this process. I appreciate the concerned individuals and am dealing with that side of things privately at this time, but it is being dealt with. I have sought law help and will be speaking with them today. My main reason for originally posting is to find out if anyone has gotten in trouble in a state other than their home state. I want to have my license in MI, I am afraid if I surrender my license in AZ and go through MIs program, it will be on my record forever that I surrendered a license and MI may follow suit or I will not be able to find a nursing job. Any thoughts?
  5. Hey, I was recently caught diverting on a travel contract in AZ, I live in Michigan and eventually want to continue working only in MI. I was called by AZ BON and questioned. They have too much evidence and I decided I am going to admit and try to start a Diversion program. Any one ever get caught in a State they dont want to continue to work in? I wont have insurance for at least the first part of this process. How much money is it for the beginning part of the program (dx by dr. and IOP)? Do I have to not have a job at all for the first part of the program? How long approx before I can work as an RN? ANY HELP IS APPRECIATED Thanks for your time.
  6. Hey, sorry to hear about your bad experience. If I was in the same boat as you I would first attempt to switch units. If your not able to, I would suggest asking to transfer to a CNA/nurse tech/nurse assistant (w/e you call them). This way you can gain more experience and become more familiar with the policies and procedures of the hospital. If your dead set on leaving, definitely put in two weeks and tell them, politely, your your pursuing better options. I have a hard time with interviews and difficulty speaking clearly so honestly, I would lie about it to future employers. I would say that due to family health related issues I had to leave my place of employment. But thats probably wrong and bad advice, but Im not perfect haha.
