  1. i remember that i used to assist in bathing and grooming one of my father's friend who had partial stroke when i was like 11 years old. My mum is a nurse but she never discussed with me the idea of me becoming a nurse. it was my father (a geo-informatic surveyor) who came up with the idea, spiced up with instances of some uncles and aunts who did nursing and were practicing in the USA. but the decision to do nursing was mine as I had a university admission to study Accountancy/Economics in the same year I got into nursing school. i am a registered nurse and Im in the UK doing my Msc occupational health. im proud to be a nurse!
  2. yeah! thanks for the response. It's abroad question, I know but I want to leave it broad so that I can have various kind of response that will reflect various situations and circumstances. (any type of nurse, in any setting, with doctors, with management, colleagues etc. ) that's why I said "variables in general".
  3. I am currently doing a study on job satisfaction among nurses. Currently I am in south Africa. I want to know others people's opinion about job satisfaction among nurses. Thanks Great nurses! Dammy
  4. i think that workload maybe too much for you for now and it may create job stress and personal conflict within you as regards the unambiguity of the roles you have to play. the coy may need to employ somebody temporarily while you plan and schedule your work.
  5. As an OHN, i will advice it's beta to state all your health conditions during the pre-employment assessment. U know issues like this can lead to litigation. So it's better and safer to disclose any relevant health information which the employer must not used against the prospective employee
  6. sure, there's no probs with that. it's all about a man and woman.
  7. :heartbeat I think that anything that will reduce medication errors shouldn't be discouraged. Using a calculator ensures accuracy,so that one will be sure he's givng the right dose. it promotes patient's safety.
  8. When i left the secondary school, i never thought of nursing. Although my mum's a nurse;she never for once tried to influence my thought. It was my dad (a registered surveyor)who encouraged me encouraged me to go for nursing which I later did( he didn't coerce me ). Since then I have not regretted being into nursing. I found out that it's a way of serving God and humanity being a nurse. The uttmost thing is that one has a job fulfilment and job satisfaction; i.e you are doing what you like and that one is pushed into it whether by another person or by frustration.
