both are physicians. different schools, but more and more similarities in terms of boards and residencies. Pretty soon they will probably be exactly the same (boards and residencies), as it is a DO can do an MD residency.
most important GPAs are the pre-reqs. TEAS also seems to matter. Even if your overall GPA is under 3.0, but your pre-req GPA is high you can get in. TEAS requires a bit of studying, but nothing to sweat over.
