can a non-native speaker do well in nursing school?
I find your comment hilarious. English is my 4th language, and science class is my 5th language. If I get accepted into the nursing program, it will be my sixth language. As I'm getting older, I'm getting impatient in learning parts of speech.

Just not for me, how to resign
You're just burnt out from seeing the same people and your access to direct patient care is limited due to a small population of patients that contribute to it. Be genuine to your boss about your problems and he/she will understand or open up a little bit. If it causes a conflict in your end by telling truths, then keep them to yourself. Give them a plenty of time to hire a new nurse and you should offer that you will be willing to help them out to orient him/her. Anyway, by law, they cannot punish your children when you will resign. Good luck on your new journey. If I were you, I would do some part-time somewhere else so I don't feel life is boring.

Thanks for sharing. I'm struggling with the reading comprehension.

I'm having doubts about nursing... :(
In all schools I applied to, CNA is one of the criteria they look for. 've been a CNA for over 6 months. I'm waiting patiently to be accepted in the program; and/meanwhile, I do need to redo some of my humanity and social science courses because these are dragging my GPA down.

Being Gay and a Male Nursing Student
As an adult, all of my friends are females. Eventually, I got married. It bothers me when heterosexual males spreading rumors that I was a bisexual then there was this group of women who were either lesbians or bisexuals also said the same thing. They all teased me that I was one, just hid it. They all presumed that I wanted women romantically based on my social circle due to the fact that I didn't have boyfriends in my teenage life or early adulthood. In fact, two of them solicited me for a threesome. I gave them a straight answer that I liked and respected them for who they were, asking me to participate in their sexual activity was unfathomable and they should leave me alone. I didn't say anything sounds condescending or demeaning, but they suddenly removed me from their life. Well, I didn't want to stalk them that can end up in the databases of the law enforcement, so I let them go. If they will decide they will want me around, they will contact me. So far, it has been 7 years since the last time we spoke after I refused to have sex with them. They accused me of something didn't cross my mind that I was an intolerance or prejudice person towards them, their sexual orientation. At this point, I learned to ignore or not to correct people's mind. It's their business to crap on their own rainbow. Discriminating me for being a straight female has NEVER been acceptable and will never be tolerated. It goes both ways. I could actually sue them for soliciting me. I definitely support that nobody deserves to be maltreated. When you have a hard evidence or witness, lawyer up. Whining doesn't resolve in anything. How people behave toward us, we cannot control it. We all get it; some of us don't care and move on. For example, I have a different issue. Some girls, who are acquaintances or friends of my friends guard their ugly husbands when I'm around. I used to get upset how they treated me. These days, I take it as a compliment, I must be a hot girl.

Cnas are looked down upon
I don't recall being able to sit except when I chart or take a break.

Cnas are looked down upon
Without clients, we have no jobs. However, it's always the best choice to give up our seat to our clients. It's part of our hospitality. Look down? It doesn't bother me if my charge nurse or stranger does it to me. I'm not insulted. It's humiliating when it's my own family and husband are embarrassed because I'm a CNA. They discouraged me from working on my license/certificate. In fact, they aggressively recommended that I should use my non-nursing degree to work while waiting for my acceptance from my preferred school. I insisted that I'm happy where I am right now and I get to learn basic skills for my current and future career. They're disgusted and disappointed by me. I can tell with their body language. In short, once I will become an RN, I will not want them in my graduation, continuously limit my socialization with them, and/or they will be RNs themselves to restore their relationship with me and probably will divorce my husband. I don't need people to like me because of my title. They have no idea that I'm hurt Proud to be a CNA!

The Traditional Program's Orientation Day will be on May 30th 2017 unless they changed it to 28th as the OP posted. That's what nurses do...Dates can be changed. Lol I applied for the traditional RN program.

If you don't mind to disclose, how many points do you have ? And when did you apply? Mine was turned before the deadline.

Do you need English and math courses to get into a nursing program
All schools I checked required the math and English courses but vary. Some schools required at least 3 English classes and college algebra (or above) for the BSN program. For your note, all majors require math and English courses unless you're applying to the vocational school. Still, some vocational schools require math and English classes. It really depends on which school you want to attend.

Do you think nurses get special treatment?
Not a nurse and I wasn't in my scrubs either but t-shirt and jeans. A cop gave me a verbal warning. My bf got pissed off because he never got a warning.
