  1. Hi everyone, I am a newer nurse with about 11 months experience in medsurg tele/COVID unit. I just got my dream job in L&D and will be starting next month. I feel very excited but nervous as well. I just wanted to ask if anyone has any tips or advice on what I can refresh or try to become familiar with before I start orientation in March. Thank you all in advance for your input.
  2. glamnurse2b thank you! I really hope it's enough. I applied to traditional. I'm not to sure about lvn-RN having separate cohorts. I was under the impression that a specific number of seats was reserved for them and if not filled then they would give them to traditional RN program applicants, but I might be wrong.
  3. Hello, I turned in my application packet today. I'm so anxious now, I calculated a total of 74 points. I got a 78% on the TEAS, I also have an associates degree, have completed 18 units at COS, have health experience and life experience points, as well as second language points. I'm a bit scared because I have a feeling spring semester application period is more competitive compared to fall application period. At least that's my theory. I believe that COS is the only community college around here that has a spring semester start. The only other options would be SJVC, Fresno City, or Fresno State. I think we all have a really good chance of getting in. Do any of you know if LVN-RN applicants have priority? Thank you and have a great day.
  4. If you don't mind me asking do you know how many points your colleague had for the cos program I'm planning to apply to their program this summer if I don't get in at west hills
  5. No I haven't but I know of someone else who got the call yesterday as well which is making me even more nervous. I just hope we get the call soon
  6. Sorry for asking so many questions RedBC did you get your call regarding your acceptance into the program already?
  7. I don't know why their NCLEX pass rate dropped I was also wondering the same. couragetoheal, CNA if you don't mind me asking did you apply to the traditional ADN program I'm assuming you did but just wondering. Thank you for reply btw
  8. When did you turn in your application if you don't mind me asking I feel like it's taking very long for me I turned mine in on Jan 19th nothing yet I'm just nervous. I really hope I get in and get the call and congrats!! So happy for you.
  9. I was wondering if you have heard anything yet? 8' starting to get a bit nervous because I haven't heard anything since that fist email even thought on the website it states they will be notifying us if we move on through the process. Hope we hear good news soon
  10. I recently applied at West Hills College Nursing program I received the first email stating my application met the legiable and complete requirements and would be reviewed for minimum requirements. My questions is does anyone know what the average points for acceptance are, if anyone who has gotten accepted to previous programs would please give me an idea I would greatly appreciate it. I'm not too sure but I believe to either have 78 or 79 points but I don't know if that would be enough? Thank you.
