  1. Asherah, Congratulation! You are well deserved! You are such a helpful person on this board. I think you are a great fit for VCU. VCU NOVA was my daughter's first choice but she got waitlisted last year. She planned to reapply this year but the broken knee made us urge her to leave her ICU job early and go to another school which starts on June 1 of this year.
  2. Northern Virginia site is the hardest to get in because all the DC area applicants apply there so they don't have to relocate. People wait for a couple of application cycles to get in at that location.
  3. I heard decisions come out by Thanksgiving.
  4. Many applicants also applied to Georgetown. When it announces decision, some people will drop out of U of M. Spots will open up. Both are great programs, just personal preference. Don’t lose hope yet.
  5. Got in elsewhere. Cancelled interview. Good luck to everyone!!
  6. Asherah, Thank you for the offer. No, not possible to drive. I am in a leg long brace to prevent bending. I will have family member to drive me and assist me.
  7. Hello, Need some advice. Is it ok to be on crutches or in wheelchair to the interview? Just fractured the right leg today and have an interview next Wednesday. Is there a good amount of walking involved for the interview day? Is it even possible to be selected going to interview in the crutches and need someone to wheel me around? Please share some detail about the activities during that day so preparation can be made. Thank you!
  8. This school seems to care about your academic achievement the most. Good GPA from a top nursing school should help.
  9. Wow, that was quick, only a couple of days after the deadline. Can anyone of you share the timeframe of the interview date? Congratulations!!
  10. Thank you for always so helpful!!
  11. Good luck to everyone on their interviews!
  12. I think offers come out at the same time.
  13. Yes, daughter was waitlisted last year. Will apply again this time. Hopefully second time is the magic.
  14. The Johns Hopkins name carries a lot of weight. At least your kids will have an extra point when they apply college. Lol.
  15. I know someone else is applying. Since John Hopkins has the #1 nursing graduate school, I am sure it’s going to shoot up to the top in no time.
  16. My daughter got waitlisted. It's very rare to come off the waitlist, 1 or 2 at most. Who knows what position one is on the waitlist. Time for D to apply elsewhere. It's not meant for her to go to VCU I guess. I just feel bad she ended up being the only one didn't get in this year from her unit. It hurts. If she applies again next year she might be a shoot-in being waitlisted this year. But I hope she will be accepted else where before then. Even though she wants to get in VCU the most, but it's not the only good school in the region.
  17. Phone call is always good news. Rejection is by email, maybe come after June 1.
  18. No, this is her first try. Also first try for her coworkers. In the past, a few people in her unit had to apply twice to get in VCU, but they all did. She is very young, that might not help. This calling a few people every few days process is awful. Why can’t they just notice everyone all at once with one click?
  19. My D’s coworkers got the calls today. One for nova, one for Richmond. D is the only one still hasn’t heard. It’s awful she might be the only one didn’t get in.?
  20. I just heard someone else got into NOVA. No one can get in NOVA without being the first choice. It’s the hardest site to get in. Last year, 400 applied VCA, over 200 are for NOVA.
  21. I think she meant the 4 VCU program sites, not websites. So far I only see 2 acceptances to NOVA on this thread.
  22. Just talked to my D. She said she heard from someone who knew a person who was told by the interviewers that she was a shoot in this year (because this is her second time applying and interviewed ) has not heard anything yet. So most likely the calls are not done. They are probably behind. It’s perfectly ok to pass June 1.
  23. Where did you see a person on here waitlisted? I couldn’t find it. I feel like so few people are accepted here. There got to be more. My D’s unit has people accepted every year by VCU. But all 3 people applied this year were interviewed but didn’t hear back. It’s unusual. I feel like her preceptor who got into Georgetown and Duke should be accepted. It’s very disappointing.
