  12. Thank you Scottishtape!
  13. Financially, I cannot not be out of work for 2yrs. So I am going to go for my LPN 1st. Then go back for my RN. I am curious to hear other nurses stories about their bridge experience. Did you feel like your LPN helped you with new concepts and skills level? How long did you wait to go back for your RN degree? Did you feel as though the NCLEX was more bearable since you took it for your LPN?
  14. I am just starting my prereqs for LPN and it is disheartening to hear horrible stories regarding LTC establishments. Yes, I personally would find another job, you do not have your license to be in jeopardy.
  15. 32 going back to school. Ill be 34 when I apply to the ADN Nursing Program

  18. I am a seasonal allied health provider with over 10 years in the health-care field from clinical to clerical roles. I am embarking on my path to nursing. However, I do not wish to do bedside nursing in the hospital. Someone said I might change my mind during clinical's and I highly doubt it lol. Public health seems like a good fit for me or school nursing. But I was curious to know if anyone else was looking into other specialties besides hospital nursing?
  19. Congrats Chicarocks!
  20. Mscoleman78! I hear that. I am just starting my prereqs for nursing. I have over 10 years in health-care from medical assisting to cardio tech to registering in the ER. I know I DO NOT want to work in a hospital and do bedside nursing. You do what works well for YOU. Im happy to read that you found your niche and it is working out for you. Im reside in IL as well by Schaumburg.
  21. Good luck to you Lizzie!! keep us posted. I will be taking micro in the spring I think then im study for the NLN entrance test. I hate math and feel like that is my biggest weakness
