  1. LPN not doing her job

Unfortunately, you will work with people who don't take their jobs as seriously as you take yours. Did she ever end up giving your patient his/hers medications? I would talk with her in private before reporting her.
  2. Bad messed up

pcbeachbum, I would think even with a lawyer, you won't get too far. You were caught stealing drugs which aren't yours, which is huge.
  3. Career Change, is nursing for me?

MedBiz410, It's possible to have a full time job and be in nursing school, you will legit have zero free time and go from work to school to study, it's possible, but would I do nursing school with a full time job? No thank you.
  4. Am I able?

Nurse_soon, It's difficult, everyone can agree on that, but the severity of he difficulty depends on you and how well you are able to keep up/do the work. Just make sure you put 110% into nursing school and learn how to study, study, and study a litt...
  5. Applying to take the CNA test with record in CA

hiimanurse, Depends on the schooling policy, but they normally don't prefer "criminals", but acceptions could be made. If your lawyer informed you of an informal diversion, how is the misdemeanor showing up/how are they finding out?
  6. LPN Duties for the Day

NurseRen Lawrence, LPN's who work in hospitals and private clinics are typically required to perform the following job duties: Planning and managing patient care according to each patient's needs. Interviewing patients and recording their medical his...
  7. I want to become a CNA

Jaida, Typical work day is preforming tasks that your patients cannot do themselves & make their ends meet. The work schedule is different, depending where you live and what facility you work for, contacting them is the best to get that question ...
  8. What do I do on my first day training as a CNA?

thelifeofamy, Your job will not provide scrubs unless told so by your employer. I would show up in scrubs that you purchase yourself. A call to your employer never hurts.
  9. 1 yr Peds experience - wanting to travel

kristyg123, It's pretty common actually, to leave with 1yr experience but it all depends on the recruiter and his/hers/the companies preference on experience. But if you feel as though you're all set, contact a recruiter in your area and get started!
  10. Nursing in the Air Force interest

Nineteen19, I hope a moderator moves this into the Government / Military nursing forum to get you more responses. I believe the age requirement for the Air Force at least is 39 years old. I'm almost certain you will have to do your schooling on base,...
  11. Bringing my own work supplies

SweetLola648, Yes, I've seen many CNA's bring in their own shampoo and/or body wash for the patients & haven't gotten introuble. Although, I don't see why you'd wan to bring and use your own shampoo or body wash..
  12. I'm a CNA

sheila1818, Unfortunately, if anyone is accused of abuse, whether it be from rumors, your employer is required to take it serious, even if it did not happen. But, nobody is going to just randomly accuse someone of abuse for fun, could you have possib...
  13. Working as a CNA in a hospital at 17

Depending on where you live, honestly. Not many hospitals hire CNA's with no experience. They usually require 2 years of experience to begin working as a PCT in a hospital. Try working at an LTC before working in a hospital!
  14. My coworker was high and got away with it

What proof do you have that he was high other than "He was eating edibles on his snapchat" or "he texted his friend saying he was." It literally makes no sense. You're focusing too much on what Jon is doing outside of work which has nothing to do wit...
  15. My coworker was high and got away with it

Before work.... Meaning that they'd be outside of work and on their own time...
  16. Clinical Shoes

TitanGal1996, Usually they will go into details about what shoe type to be looking for, so look into that to make sure you aren't spending money on a shoe that you cannot use on the job. I would think ANY shoe that is nonslip & is comfortable eno...
  17. Cnas are looked down upon

Exactly, why wouldn't someone such as an RN or CNA give up their seat for a client? Common courtesy.
  18. Cnas are looked down upon

Amiles92, Quit pulling the race card and saying you felt like you were back in your "slavery days". It really just sounds dumb. You're not always going to encounter nice patients or nice family members in the health field, it's a part of the job. Ki...
  19. CNA Group Interview

    Congratulations!
  20. Taking my CNA classes!

Hello, everybody! This is just useless information to you all, but, I just wanted to let you all know, after a little bit of contacting my local college, I will be taking my CNA classes soon! Anything I should "practice"? Thank you all! (I'm in Wisco...
  21. Job Interview CNA

Futuresoldier11, No, I've heard of many hospitals giving out papers/tests for interviews.
  22. How to become a nurse

Hilaryalas, A BSN is not the only form of a nurse. You can become a nurse with an ADN, LPN, LVN, ASN, etc, etc. Although a BSN is recommended and would be more helpful in job searching, but you do not need it.
  23. Nclex Advice

Yeah, 60s is the ideal percentage. If you're weak in pharm, then keep studying it, make flash cards for things you're having trouble understanding and keep reading over them, I always read my flash cards out loud, helped me better. I'm sure there are...
  24. Advice

best_fiction, Don't worry if you didn't pass, it's really not a big deal and you're not the first person who has failed a skill before, believe it or not. I know it sucks to fail it, but maybe try watching videos on YouTube about that specific skill...
  25. Nclex Advice

I understand the stress. I would say if you're comfortable taking the test, go for it!
