  1. Towards the end of my BSN program, i started to become obsessive and went on this website EVERYDAY to look for answers. I have a DUI from 2009 so i knew getting my "ok" to take the nclex may come with some obstacles. This site has helped me with my anxieties so much, i felt like i should also post my experience with the board of nursing. the 1st week of february, i submitted all the paperwork requested by the board. i submitted: 8 letter of recs, resume, volunteer experience, transcripts, letter of explanation, LVN license copy, BLS, ACLS, certified court documents, and a letter stating i am unable to obtain the certified arrest report. i received a letter april 11th stating the boards will not pursue any disciplinary actions against me, i will be allowed an unrestricted license, and i am scheduled to take the NCLEX next week. i am happy to answer any questions you may have. Feel free to email me at [email protected] :)
  2. If you can get those two charges dropped (expunged) then you wont have a problem with going to clinicals. You will have a problem with reporting it to the boards. They are even more strict when it comes to things such as drug charges, elderly abuse, battery, sex offenders, etc. good luck.
  3. you must let them know of all charges because if u dont, it will look like you are hiding it from them and can ultimately deny you a license. Just be honest about it and hope for the best... thats all you can really do... good luck!
  4. i would get a record of the court documents and arrest report. See exactly what they said in that because once you apply for the boards, you will need to send in that information and the boards will take into consideration that arrest document. Many times, those documents will state your behavior, what you stated, if you were resisting arrest, etc on the day of your arrest. goodluckkkkk
  5. if you are sure you wont have a conviction on your record, or if you do and have them expunged, you wont have a problem entering nursing school when it comes to clinicals. You will however have to explain to the boards when you apply to take the NCLEX. GOODLUCK!
  6. dont lose hope. i know a fewpeople who got licensed after a dui during nsg school. goodluck!!!
  7. wait to get the case expunged. once you have it expunged, you should have no problems entering any clinical site. i had zero problem
  8. yes it will definitely be hard. CA BON is known to be very strict. hard but no impossible. goodluck
