That's true, but I couldn't find anything concrete.

Because there is nothing concrete.

This issues are generally handled on a case by case basis, and statutes vary state by state. As such, there will be no uniform "concrete answer" ...as demonstrated by what you saw in those threads.

The only one that can answer you is the BON in your state.

Since we're on this subject of DUI, I wonder what does it take for people to realize that drinking prior driving or drinking while driving is no joke especially for the consequences nowadays. Last year, here in the town I live at, a lady who worked at a local restaurant drank before driving and hit an ambulance which was transporting a CVA patient to another hospital, the patient died because the car hit the ambulance head on. The patient flew forward off the stretcher hitting his head directly in back seat of the ambulance driver. Now they have a shoulder straps to prevent that from happening. She is in so much trouble I bet people would like to ask her, "Was it worth it?"

The sad part is people are still driving under the influence. Just look at your local newspaper on the police blotter section...Crazy!

Belive me I know probably more than many how bad it is. I have had it 4 years ago absolutely not because I am alchogolic. In this concrete question I just want to understand the system, where at first school takes your money (private school is serious) and then nobody knows what is going to happen after. And what I am looking for - just probably somebody has the had same experience.

Actually as I has been told it's not going to be a problem - I am clean with court, any stupit thinks like rehab programs. But the doubts are always the doubts.

As we keep stating, each case is handled on an individual basis.

Best thing to do is contact the Board of Nursing in oyur state before beginning any schooling. Whatever answers here does not mean that your case will be handled the same.

Yes, many have had the same experience...some have gone on to get the license and others have not, despite similar circumstances.

You need to seek information from the BON...

and perhaps a class in technical writing (as what is posted is quite illegible and would go over very poorly in any school)

The definitive answer is (as other posters state) lies with your state board of nurses.

i had a dui 7 years ago and i got approved to take the test. like you though i was also worried. but it does depend on the state you live in. if you want to be a nurse i wouldnt give up.

hi all! i got in trouble too a long time ago when i very first turned 18 when i made a dumb mistake. anyways, when i got fingerprinted, i was scared to death, but since i didn't violate my parole, and pay off everything, i was fine. it does worry you though. you can call the local state for answers. :) hope this helps!:uhoh21: :uhoh21:
