I took my nclex (1st attempt) last week and found out that after 92 questions, i failed it. I have been devastated and trying to figure out what went wrong. I have no clue how to study for this thing... and need help!!! I seriously dont want to have to explain to anyone again (work included) as to how i failed it a second time around.

How did you prepare? What was your study plan? Did you use a prep class like Kaplan?

HURST review services was sponsored by my school and actually was helpful! Helps explain "core content" so that you can answer questions critically/rationally, not because you memorized facts.

I loved the Hurst review. I did the entire thing, then repeated sections where I wanted more knowledge. Passed first try 75 questions. It's pricey: I believe $300 in 2011 when I took it? Cant remember. But cheaper then retaking NCLEX multiple times.

Look at the breakdown they send u in the mail. Supposedly it will tell u what to study more.

I also took the hurst review and when it ended I reviewed a few sections a day on my own and took the practice tests that were included. I also did the Kaplan review and took A LOT of questions. I passed on my first try with 75 questions.

I recommend the Hurst Review. I took NCLEX today and felt a little bit at ease because the material I studied in Hurst Review were on the exam. Hurst focuses on the core content you need to pass the exam and helps you to understand the pathophysiology of a disease. Its also quite entertaining to watch since the lecturers have a Southern accent and repeat certain words so its drilled in your head. I loved filling the worksheet as I listened and watched the lecture because it really helped get the tactile sense of learning down. I am someone who likes to learn with my hands so filling in worksheets were perfect for me. It doesn't cost a lot. With a code from aftercollege.com, I only paid $280 for the review course.
