i have already applied for eligibility to take the NCLEX exam for California. Right now im wondering if i still have to get a CGFNS evaluation even if it is not required by the CA BON. i'm having worries that if i apply a job in CA, the employer might ask for a CGFNS evaluation.
please help..

If the BON does not require it, I dont think the hospitals on that state would also require it. But if you want to apply on a state that requires CGFNS, then take it. Simple as that! Though rules may change, the recent rule I heard was that they already require license from foreign takers. "If the BON dont require it, why take it?"
If they dont require it, it would just a waste of time and money. Just concentrate for NCLEX. But if you want to take it anyway because you dont care about the time and you have the means, then take it! simple as that!
thank you so much..

The BRN makes their own decision and unless you are planning on working in another state I would not bother with CES. However you are aware of Ca not issuing you with a license without SSN, that your file is deleted after 3 years if you haven't provided them with one. Suggest you read up on Ca and issues as retrogression may take you much longer than 3 years

CGFNS evaluation is the CES, and it is just a credentials eval.
CGFNS exam or certificate is the full CGFNS exam and is only required for 4 states now, so no reason to take that if not needed. It will not give you a license.
