I would bet that you would get a job faster as a CNA.

CNA for sure it is easiest to get a job anywhere with a CNA cert

CNA all the way. MA jobs are hard to find, the training is expensive and way longer.

Also something to remember if you go for a CNA and are moving to a different state you need to make sure your certificate is transfered from the state you got certification to being certified in the state you will be at before getting a job.

I work with a nurse who used to be a medical assistant, but not for very long. She told me she actually made more money as a CNA, which to me seems utterly shocking but there it is. So she went back to CNA work until she became a nurse. Also, there seem to be some areas of the country that don't use MAs at all, but CNAs are everywhere. I've seen a lot of threads from people who paid thousands of dollars for MA training and never got even one job in the field, but are stuck with debt. Plus CNA training and certification is much faster and cheaper. Be ready to work your patootie off, but CNA is the better choice IMO.

You can make more as a CNA than being an MA because as a CNA you can work full time but also pick up extra work shifts with a home health agency or as a per dieum CNA
