I need help with this reflection paper. Topic is (Construct a healthy diet and exercise plan for you or someone you know. Designate who the paper is referring to with “me, myself, mother, friend, etc.” Explain how this new plan differs from an existing plan or no plan at all.)

Wait, aren't LPNs not allowed to teach and educate patients? I'm pretty sure this is the RNs job.

But if it's just something to do, I would ask one of your parents to write down their daily eating and exercise habits for you to work with. If they eat white breads/pastas, switch it with whole grain. If they drink excessive quantities of soda, switch it with diet/no-cal versions. If they are completely sedentary, recommend an hour of exercise a day.

Stuff like that is what I think they want. Just look over what was discussed in lectures.

I'm taking Diet Nutrition class as a perquisite course for LPN program. I don't know how to start etc. I have never done any papers in my life. Thank you for your help.

This is my first time that I have to write a paper. I have never done any paper in my life. Please help me. How to start etc. I will be really appreciate it.

1. Start by reviewing the requirements of a paper and the criteria by which it will be graded. Your teacher should have given you that. If not, ask your teacher to explain exactly what she wants included. You are going to have to talk with your teacher and find out what the expectations are. No one here can give you that information.

2. Then select a person to be the "pretend patient" for this paper. Research (textbook, journal articles, reputable websites, etc.) the recommendations for what would make a healthy diet for this person.

3. Does your school have a standard format for how a paper is supposed to be formatted? (e.g. title page, headings, etc.?) If they do, review those requirements before you start writing.

4. Then start writing. Introduce the pretend patient to the reader, describe their current diet and/or health issues that led you to select them. Then report what you found when you researched the recommended diet for that person. Compare your recommended diet to the one they eat now, etc. There is no magic to getting started ... just start putting words on paper.

5. After you have put the key ideas on paper, then edit it to make sure it matches whatever format your teacher and school are looking for. Also edit it so that it reads smoothly. Make sure that you have properly cited the resources that you used to get your information.

When your paper includes the content that your teacher asked for ... and it is formatted the way your school wants it formatted ... and it reads smoothly ... you are done and ready to turn it in for grading.

Then you were done a grave disservice.

The other poster laid out the process pretty well. Since you mentioned that your teacher wants your paper in APA format, check your local library or bookstore for a guide/help book. Make sure you proofread for spelling and grammar.

It is also perfectly acceptable-- and a damn good idea-- to start now so you have plenty of time to complete this assignment, and check in with your faculty member early and often for feedback on how you are progressing.

Faculty are really interested in seeing students learn and pass; they want to help, but you have to ask. Do this, and you will not be surprised when you turn in a paper that is graded poor because you missed a basic direction somewhere along the line.
