Okay Guys, I Just Recently Passed My Nclex-pn Exam And Looking Forward To Getting My Rn. My Problem Is That My Pre-requsites Are More Than 5 Years Old And In Most Schools Here In Maryland They Require You To Have Pre-requisites That Are Less Than 5 Years Old. Most Schools Want Me To Repeat These Courses, But I Don't Feel Like I Should Have To Start All Over Again From The Beginning. I've Been On Waiting List After Waiting List In Various Schools In The Past And No Reply. I've Gotton Accepted Before In A Rn Program But Wasn't Successful In Completing The Program, And That's Why I Went For The Lpn Program. I Really Want To Become A Rn, But I Refuse To Start From The Beginning. Those Anyone Know Any School That Has A 10 Limit On Pre-requisites Or That Don't Have A Time Limit At All? I've Even Thought About Going Into Another Major Completely That Would Accept My Pre-quisites Even Though I Don't Really Want To Go Into Another Major. What Suggestions Do You Have For Me? :(

Excelsior doesn't have a time limit: https://www.excelsior.edu/

Maryland doesn't accept EC right now, although it seems like EC is in negotiations to change that.

THANKS FOR YOUR RESPONSE, SO IN THAT CASE WHAT WOULD BE YOUR SUGGESTION?

Find out if a neighboring state accepts them and if Maryland lets you "endorse in." Get licensed via Excelsior and work as an RN where you can.

I was the one who suggested ISU's LPN-BSN to you last week. That is your only option (outside of returning to a traditional program) if you live in Maryland and wish to continue to do so. You had to have finished EC by 12/31/2007 to be licensed by examination or endorsement in Maryland.

MD is rather small and is bordered by many states.. is it possible to work in another state but live in MD? What about moving all together? I'm from MD and the PA border wasn't that far from me.. neither was VA or WV or OH for that matter lol.. is that an option? If so then go for Excelsior.

THANKS FOR REPLYING. YES, I'VE LOOKED INTO ISU AND REQUESTED INFO FROM THEM, BUT I'M STILL KINDA SHAKY ABOUT HOW THIS DISTANCE LEARNING THINGS WORKS. I'VE CHECKED OUT THEIR SITE AND STILL COULDN'T GET DIRECT ANSWERS TO MY QUESTIONS.

THANKS FOR THE REPLY, BUT LIVING IN MD AND WORKING IN ANOTHER STATE WOULD BE MIND AND BODY DRAINING FOR ME. I WOULD REALLY PREFER TO STAY IN MD AND STUDY HERE.

Them it's either ISU or biting the bullet and re-taking what the brick-and-mortar schools require.

JUST FOUND OUT TODAY MARYLAND DOES NOT APPROVE NOR ENDORSE EXCELSIOR COLLEGE.
